Taqueria y Neveria San Luis — Restaurant in Pasadena

This was my fist time at this restaurant. I dining in with my sister in law and girlfriend. We order our food. They both got there food as I waited for mine. Just then two other customers came in and ordered there food. As I was still waiting for mine. The other customers ordered the same food as me. They received there food. While at this time I'm still waiting for my food. My girlfriend and sister in law are done eating. I still have not received my food. So we go to asking for the ticket. The cashier till me to wait while she goes to the kitchen. When she returns to give me the ticket. That is when the waiter comes out and ask if I want my food to go. I tell him that I no longer want my food. I truly believe that they forgot about my food. Only when I went to pay. Is when they realized what happened. I was given no apology or reason why I never received my food. They didn't even offer a discount on my ticket for my troubles. To top it off the cashier had me run my card twice cause she forgot to add one item from the ticket. Just a...

I had thought Nouvelle cuisine gone, and I had thought that was a good thing. This restaurant proved me wrong. The wait staff was helpful and entertaining and worked together impeccably. We sat outside (do it if the weather is good, it is lovely) had the meal describe to us (set menu for mother's day), and enjoyed every minute. The flavors were different, fresh and better than described. The first course for example was tortellini and lobster with consomme. The dish was not drowned in the broth, but greatly enhanced by perhaps 4 ounces. after we mopped up what we could with our bread, I looked to make sure no one was watching, and picked up my bowl to drink it down. and unlike the typical nouvelle servings, they looked small but truly filled you up. My husband barely finished the main course, which left more dessert for me. He had over-indulged in the cheese plate, so it is not surprising. Food: Caldo de Res - hot, well seasoned, and tasty Rice - okay Guacamole - bland Chips - never received it

Service: Guacamole - paid for a large order but received a tiny container Chips - paid for a bag of chips but didn’t receive it Tostadas - ordered this but was sent tortillas instead

Atmosphere: This was a delivery order. I called to inform them of the mishaps but no one ever answered the phone. It was my first and last experience with this restaurant.
