Wendy's — Restaurant in Pasadena

I've never felt compelled to leave a review at a fast food place. It's cheap and fast. Not expecting a gourmet meal just something to shove down my gullet. Well that changed when I came here apparently right after the entire staff except for a single stressed out cashier and one person manning the drive thru has left for lunch. How do I know? Well this is based mainly on the fact that after I ordered I noticed two employees enjoying their lunch in the dining area. And then during my HALF HOUR wait where the only two active employees were dealing with more and more customers and cars in the drive through were giving up hope of ever receiving nourishment before having to resort to eating their leather seats, more employees wondered in from outside, I assume after searching for a place where they could get lunch in less than half an hour. The kicker is, I watched an employee eat their entire lunch and upon finishing they asked if I was still waiting. I confirmed that I was. They then went and prepared my meal. Now please don't think I am begrudging these employees of their lunch break. Everyone deserves one and I'll be damned if that gets taken away. What I am miffed about is that a manager would decide letting most of the staff take lunch in the midst of the dinner rush was a good idea. This is operating under the assumption that Wendy's actually uses managers and not a dart board with various managerial commands that the employees use to determine what their next task is. If you like their fries and frosties, then that's the only thing I would go there for, but only in the drive thru. I went inside and ordered a baconater combo with an apple kiwi drink. Drink was pretty good. But when I sat down at the first table, it was sticky. Next table over had crumbs of someone else's food on it. Since there was 3 of us, we couldn't sit at a 2-seater, so the high tables was the next best thing, though we still had to clean it off some. My grandfather went to get a drink, but when he came back he said that there was no more Diet Coke and they were running low on napkins. When I got my burger, it reminded me of dog food. I did find a few cold fries, but for the most part they were good. My grandfather and aunt ate the taco salad, but they didn't really care for it either since there was very little or no meat in the chili. Service wasn't great either. I just had the best experience at a Wendy's so far. I use to go to the Pearland location on Hwy 35 since I lived in Pearland but now this is my closest location. I ordered my food on the app but the app was giving me issues. When I arrived to the restaurant I picked up my order in the drive thru. The cashier wasn't sure about the issue so he asked his manager (I assume he was the manager). The manager addressed the issue with empathy (i wasn't upset just confused) and did his best to solve the problem. He was confused as well and since we couldn't figure it out he gave me my free offer from the app anyway. My order was CORRECT (no mistakes), hot and delicious. Great food and excellent customer service at this location. Thank you!
