The ONLY thing I'm mad about is the fact that no one has told us about it and the only reason I can think of as to why is they wanted all the greatness for themselves. Thankfully I'm all about caring is sharing 😉 We recently drove by and saw deMaiz and knew we had to check it out. Upon entering we already loved the vibe. We were quickly greeted with a smile and seated. Within a minute or less Xavier arrived with a smile and got our drink order just as we were delivered a fresh basket of tortilla chips and salsa. (Bonus points for individual bowls because I don't care to reach over the table to get salsa plus I can double dip all I want lol) As soon as our teas were dropped off I asked our server his opinion between two items and he quickly responded that the Birria Quesadilla was his favorite so it was a no brainer. However I did request that they grilled the onions as I'm not a fan of raw onions. My husband ordered the torta and as we waited we enjoyed the chips, salsa and amazing sweet tea. At most places we make it through at least a basket of chips before our food arrives but not here. Within minutes Xavier returned with my quesadilla and as soon as my eyes made contact it was already love at first sight. The first bite was EVERYTHING 🙌🏻 The meat was so tender, the cheese was flavorful and the grilled onions were perfect. They were so thick it was just easier for me to use a fork to eat it. As I devoured the Birria my husband enjoyed his torta as well as one of my quesadilla pieces. He said the torta was great but he is definitely getting the Birria next time we go. Over all it was amazing. Our server Xavier was so sweet and personable. The establishment was very clean and offers a variety of seating from a nice bar area, indoor dining or an outdoor patio. Our food was hot, fresh and absolutely delicious and best of all prices were extremely fair for the portions and quality. We will without a doubt...
Read moreI recently enjoyed dining at Demaiz Taco Cantina, a vibrant spot offering a delightful array of Mexican cuisine. Tucked away in Pascagoula, Ms, this eatery presents an inviting ambiance that sets the stage for an exceptional meal.
Upon stepping inside, I was warmly greeted by the hostess, whose professionalism and friendliness were a breath of fresh air. It's worth noting that while the service overall left something to be desired, with the bartender's attentiveness not quite meeting expectations, this did little to dampen the spirit of the meal.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the vegetarian burrito. It was nothing short of amazing, packed with flavors that speak to the authenticity and care put into each dish. The ingredients were fresh, the spices were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a testament to the chef's prowess in Mexican cuisine.
The atmosphere of Demaiz Taco Cantina added to the overall experience. The decor and vibe of the place transported me, making me feel as though I was dining in a cozy cantina in the heart of Mexico. The lovely ambiance, striking a perfect balance between lively and relaxed, making it an ideal setting for any occasion.
While the service might benefit from a bit more attentiveness, the friendly hostess and the exquisite food more than makeup for it. I left Demaiz Taco Cantina with a satisfied palate and memories of a burrito that I'll undoubtedly be coming back for. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this cantina is a must-visit for anyone searching for authentic Mexican flavors and a warm,...
Read moreThe music is SO LOUD. This was our 2nd visit - the first time, the food was great, the decor very pleasing (always some surprise to catch your eye...) the service great, but THE MUSIC - Saturday night CLUB volume- in the early afternoon on a weekday... so loud, everyone has to raise their voices to be heard by their tablemates... had a migraine by the time I left. I told my husband I would have gone back had it not been for the music volume. So, several weeks later, he called and mentioned it to them; they said if we ask, they will turn it down - so, we went back. They did turn the music down - a little- after he asked - but 10 minutes later, after someone had a "birthday- all the staff sings at the table - thing," music was back up to blasting. I worked in the bar and restaurant industry for years, even owned a restaurant, and, it amazes me the staff can't see the volume of the music makes any children in the place hyper (I love children, have children, taught children for years, and have no problems at all with babies and children being at a restaurant where I'm eating,) but, the children that were there had to yell to be heard, therfore their adults continued to yell at them to be quiet - not conducive to a relaxing meal. Both times, even the wait staff misheard our orders and had to redo parts of the meals. It's a shame, because the place has...
