I can mark this place off my "must try" list now. I honestly don't understand the hype at all. People must have their taste buds entwined with nostalgia. My son and I ordered chili cheese burgers, chili cheese fries and shakes. The service was amazing-1 star added for that. Very friendly staff that took the time to tell us about the history and what food is their most popular. 2nd star is for the time it took to receive our order and food that should be hot was hot and food that should be cold was cold. The shakes are alright, but not really anything special. Unfortunately, the food tasted awful. Neither of us finished our meal. It just wasnt worth the calories to eat something so unpalatable. Local fast food drive thru that's been here forever. Classic style with a basic menu of burgers, dogs, fries and ice cream. You can get anything smothered in chilli cheese. The chilli cheese fries were good, but I remember the chilli cheese dog not hitting the spot. Chilli cheese dogs are an oddly local preference in my experience. You probably don't like the coney islands I grew up with. The double cheese burger is way better than anything that you can get from any of the actual drive thru in town. My root beer float was the biggest let down. The ice cream was rich and creamy, but the root beer had no flavor. Everything ended oddly bland and wasn't even sweet? I used to eat here in High School many years ago. I had fond memories of good food and great prices. After many years and over 85 miles away I took my daughter and fiance'...Yep we made the 1 hour trip. All the while not only was I looking forward to it, I wanted them to like it. We were all very happy, It was just as I remembered. Their chili-cheese burger is alone worth the trip. They have a great variety of typical drive in fare. Everyone had different things and very happy. Just a note... it is truly an old school drive in - they have walk up windows...you munch down in the car or If you live close home. Don't let the little building fool you. Not sure how many years it has been there but I know it is 50+ that alone says it all....
