UPDATE: The tale of two Shaggy's.
We returned to Shaggy's Gulfport the day before we left for home and this time I ordered the Royal Reds -- and was disappointed. It was similar to the Royal Reds I had at Shaggy's Pass Harbor, but definitely not as good. So, if you want exceptional service, go the the Gulfport location. If you want the best Royal Reds, go to the Pass Harbor location.
ORIGINAL POST: We've been in the Gulfport/Biloxi area for almost a week and tonight's meal was the absolute best thus far. Shaggy's Pass Harbor was tonight's choice by my family and it did not disappoint. We had no wait for a table, on a very rainy Friday evening at 6pm.
First, let me mention our server, Claudia. She was cordial and courteous, and offered to take the kid's orders before the adults made up their minds on entrees. The kid's meals were delivered very quickly - shortly after Claudia took the adult's orders, making sure she entered them correctly.
In less than 10 minutes, our meals were delivered - fresh, hot and smelling wonderful. I had chosen the Royal Reds, but they weren't your normal steamed shrimp. Shaggy's Royal Reds are served in a seafood & white wine broth, accompanied by smoked sausage and red potatoes -- similar to a low country boil but much more refined. I have two words to describe this dish -- ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.
Other family members at the table also commented on their delicious choices - shrimp tacos and seafood platter. The kid's (fried shrimp and Fettuccine Alfredo) also enjoyed their food.
I highly recommend Shaggy's Pass Harbor but I'm sure their other locations would be just as marvelous. If you're in the Biloxi/Gulfport/Pass Christian area, you must give Shaggy's a try. I'm already thinking about visiting again before we...
Read moreI recently enjoyed a delightful visit to Shaggy's Pass Harbor, and I can honestly say it was one of the most fun and relaxing experiences I've had. Nestled along the beautiful coastline, this spot offers the perfect blend of gorgeous views, delicious food, and a laid-back atmosphere that keeps you coming back for more!
From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The vibrant decor and nautical theme instantly set the tone for a fun day by the water. We grabbed a table on the deck, and I was blown away by the stunning views of the harbor—it’s the ideal spot to watch the boats come in and out.
Now, let's talk about the food! The menu is packed with mouthwatering options, from fresh seafood dishes to classic munchies. I highly recommend trying their shrimp tacos—delicious and bursting with flavor! The drinks were equally impressive; the tropical cocktails were refreshing and perfectly crafted, just what you need to unwind in a beachside paradise.
Beyond the amazing food, Shaggy's Pass Harbor offers a range of activities to keep you entertained. I enjoyed some time at the beach nearby, where we lounged in the sun and took a dip in the warm waters. The atmosphere was lively, with live music adding to the overall vibe, making it the perfect spot for friends or family gatherings.
One of the standout features is the friendly and welcoming community of locals and visitors alike. It’s easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends, which adds to the overall positive experience.
Whether you’re looking for a great meal, a fun afternoon, or just a place to soak up the sun, Shaggy's Pass Harbor is a must-visit destination. I can’t wait to return for another day of sun, fun, and...
Read moreI want to first start out by saying that we absolutely love shaggy's and the food. My wife is a big fan of the Royal reds. We stopped down at this shaggy's because the one in Gulfport was super busy and had a line out the door. So for her to be able to get her Royal reds we came down to the one in past Christian. We were seated right away so that was awesome. There was no wait cuz we sat at the bar. We did have a waitress named Holly. And I'm not saying that she was a terrible waitress because she absolutely was a great waitress but it was just like she wasn't there. She was there but I'm just not entirely sure she was just with the program. And then at the end when we were going to pay for our meal she wanted us to do a review before we paid and then walked away so we couldn't pay right away. I'm just not sure that I like that practice. Me as an active reviewer. I'm pretty big on doing reviews, especially if the service was phenomenal and the food was amazing, coupled with the atmosphere of the ambiance in the restaurant.
Also, I'm not really sure that $45 for a thermal mug is worth that amount of money. And I know the sales were super important because she was very pushy about us purchasing the cup. But we had to explain to her that we don't come to shaggy's often nor do we come to pass Christian often either. So in my opinion, if you guys are going to be selling these small cups you should either bring the price down or offer more to incentivize or justify spending $45 for a mug. Or maybe get a bigger mug because those are very small mugs for a lot of money. Do you not see the world that we live in? That is a complete question. No sass behind it. Even rich people are...
