Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by Shaggy's! It might have that charming, touristy vibe, but trust me, it's so much more than that. My grandma lives on the coast, so the whole family visits regularly. Over the years, we've developed a list of our absolute favorite spots for a fantastic meal. Shaggy's? It's right at the top of that list, a true family favorite! We've practically been on a gastronomic world tour through their menu, and guess what? Not a single dish earned a thumbs-down from any of us! 🙌 Personally, I'm a seafood enthusiast, but rumor has it their burgers are spectacular too. Even though nachos tend to be a crowd-pleaser everywhere in this region, Shaggy's takes them up a notch. Their secret sauce, perhaps? And let's not forget about that laid-back ambiance and the phenomenal staff. No frantic hurry to turn tables here—just a leisurely, delightful meal. Ever walk into a joint and the waitstaff seem about as thrilled as a wet blanket? Not the case at Shaggy's. Even if they’re in the weeds, their service remains top-notch. It’s a fun, casual dining experience with a side of mouthwatering food— get ready to make some foodie memories! 🌟

For those who have never been, it does get a little warm in there since there is no AC but it will be very breezy and comfortable as long as you’re okay with mid 80° temperatures (September). The food was good and the service was very friendly but after our family of four got two (small portioned) appetizers, two tumblers that we were sold on which seem nice and you get a small discount with your drink orders, and with our meals the total came to $270 with the tip. We’re not going to slack on the tip because of the cost but we were a little shocked with the portions, the quality, and the price. The food was good, I’m just not sure we can justify doing a big family dinner here again when the restaurants on the coast around here seem to have the same quality food for double the price. This must be why the locals say it’s more for tourists. I also had a hair accidentally stuck to the inside of the bottom of my salad bowl and, big surprise, I didn’t know or find that until I was almost done with my salad. I didn’t mention it because these things happen but all together we just had some mixed feelings about the cost to quality ratio.

We visited this restaurant 8 years ago when our kids were little. On a recent trip to the area we decided to visit again and just like last time, Shaggy's did not disappoint. We had a party of 6 and had to be on a waiting list at first which was no problem. They have a really nice area for waiting with outdoor games for the kids and half priced drinks for the adults if you're on the wait list. When we were seated the service was excellent! All of the employees were super friendly and the food was delicious. When we were there 8 years ago my youngest son got a Shaggy's frisbee as part of his kids meal. We have long since lost that frisbee so I asked one of the employees if we could get another one, and she was kind enough to go find one for us. The manager visited our table and she was super nice. One thing I was so impressed by is that while most other restaurants are raising their prices and reducing their portion sizes, Shaggy's is doing the opposite. They are increasing portion sizes and prices are still reasonable. We had a great visit and can't wait to visit again!

A Culinary Gem Worth the Drive! Review: Our journey to Shaggy’s was driven by the promise of an exceptional bowl of She Crab Soup, and I’m elated to say it surpassed our expectations! Living 50 minutes away, we were hopeful our trek would be rewarded with culinary delight, and Shaggy’s did not disappoint. The She Crab Soup was, without a shadow of a doubt, the best we’ve savored in years—rich, flavorful, and comforting, it was a bowl of sheer joy. What made our experience even more memorable was the service we received from Lauren, our waitress. Lauren was the epitome of what an ideal server should be - charming, smart, and funny, with a helpfulness that made us feel welcomed and valued. Her recommendations were spot on, and her attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. Given our fantastic experience, it’s without hesitation that I give Shaggy’s a resounding 5 out of 5 stars. For anyone in search of great food accompanied by great service, this is the place to be. We’ll certainly be recommending it to friends and family, and we look forward to our next visit.

First, shout out for the excellent above and beyond service of all the staff at Shaggy's! I've never had a whole team anticipate every need that I didn't have to ask. They worked together effortlessly to heighten this experience. Thank you Hostess Serenity, Servers Darryll, Rod, and Dani for your courtesy and hard work and our main server, friendly and sweet Maddy! Hats off to the cooks too! What a treat to have your food cooked perfectly moist, seasoned, and flavorful with all the sauces complimenting... Every bite as indulging as the next. We ordered and you must try: the dozen oysters, the Red Fish special, the Flatbread special, the Shrimp & Grits, fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, the insanely nummy and perfectly sweet but not too sugary brownie and ice cream, and the Mardi Gras King Cake. Thank you to Managers Kent and Corey for stopping by our table to chat and for treating your Shaggy's family so well because it shows! Such a friendly crew ❤️

Amazing experience! We family came a few nights ago and sat with Hanna and we came tonight and sat with Jillian (sorry if I butchered the spelling). The service was awesome! We sat downstairs because my father is handicapped and they are always so accommodating. The manager both this visit and the one before was very caring and did his absolute best to accommodate us. We started off with the gator bites, fried pickles, and nachos. For drinks, I had the Bushwhacker which is always so delicious!! Most ordered the flatbread and seemed to enjoy it. I took a taste myself and was impressed. I had the smokehouse burger and it was fantastic! The burger was perfectly cooked as was the bacon. The bun was fresh and kind of sweet, quite delectable. Overall, everything was wonderful. Top-tier quality and service as usual. Thank you, Shaggy's!!!
