My friends and I visited over the 4th of July weekend and truly enjoyed coming back to see the wonderful and sweet bartenders Jenn and (the first two nights) Kate!!! The first night we came before the place was packed and sat at a table and despite how busy they got once they filled up, Jenn and Kate still came out from behind the bar to check on us and make us laugh. The music selection from the band on the 3rd was a little iffy (who plays sad songs only during a party weekend and the the little kids singing at a bar was a little weird). Small food menu of good bar munchies and great service from Kate and Jenn is what kept us coming back. They made us feel like VIP’s in what is definitely a “locals” bar. The only real critique I have is that if you’re going to broadcast that you work for a place, don’t show up drunk and rude. One of their off duty bartenders (redhead, glasses) spilled and broke her beer on us and was so loud and obnoxious we left earlier than intended on Saturday. Honestly, embarrassing to your coworkers who had to clean up your mess as well as their patrons you chased...
Read moreAs a lover of bourbon or a good Old Fashioned, discovering this place off the cuff was an absolute treat. Between the high quality selections, unique specials, simple yet fun events, and an atmosphere that feels more like a private home bar rather than something contrived, this is my new "favorite" bar.
The seats are comfy, the fire is warm, the drinks kick the right way, and the bartenders, like David, Paulina ,Bruce, Lauren, plus the owner, Cathrine, really know how to make you feel at home.
Even in a time of strife and struggle, The Whiskey Bar proves itself to be a quiet, strong, relaxing locale for hanging out with small groups of friends, or unwinding solo in front of a fire after a long day at work. This is a gem of the Coast, and always well...
Read moreThe fireplace and atmosphere were nice. However, not worth the $32 I got charged for 2, 1oz pours of Angels Envy over a large ice cube. And they put it in a plastic cup. The bar MIGHT have had ten whiskey selections if I’m being generous. Not what many would consider a “Whiskey Bar.” Angels Envy must have been the most expensive at $40 a bottle, or the up charge for the large cube was astronomical at $16 a pour. If you are looking for whiskey, this IS NOT the place. If you just want a bar, it wasn’t bad, but I don’t know...
