Ate there last night and all of our food was great. We got there "early" at around 5:30 and was shocked how full it was. When we got to the hostess we were told all tables were reserved out but there were a few open and I get it, if they are reserved they are reserved but was told we could eat outside or nothing. No option for when a table inside might be available, etc.
It was a much older, nicer crowd and made sense why it was so crowded so early but after asking the hostess, then the person that sat us what the situation was(he just said I don't know, and we were like, great we will ask someone that works here), we still were unsure if it was a club or group that had booked up the restaurant etc. Fine......so we sat outside but was a warmer night and we felt like we got seated at the kiddie table and were in trouble. For the entire hour plus we were the only ones out there and felt second class a bit.
Our server was fantastic and he finally explained it was burger night and the older crowd all gets reservations at like 4:45 and we probably would have gotten a table a bit later.
I wish the hostess had just taken a minute to explain briefly what the situation was instead of giving an "ultimatum" of outside or nothing.....how about we can seat you inside but it will be a while or explaining the large older crowd books up the restaurant and it thins out at "blank" time. It was a definitive "outside or nothing" and about that brief of what our options were.
Again, food was fantastic, service was great but it was just awkward being the only ones seated outside all night and everyone walking by us. The outdoor area is very cute though with colorful pastel colored picnic tables but will agree with another review about comfort. My issue is the table relative to the benches is about 1-2 inches too low. The table top is right above your knees and makes eating a bit off.
We will be back and eaten there enough but if it is burger night, or taco night or what ever, go later so you can get a table or make a...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Hooks in Pass Christian, but it definitely won’t be my last! From start to finish, everything was absolutely top-notch. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Shay, our server, was outstanding—warm, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience.
I ordered the salmon, and it was perfectly cooked—flaky, flavorful, SEASONED, and beautifully presented. My girl had the steak, and it was just as impressive—tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Now I know exactly where to go when I’m craving a great steak on the coast!
To top it all off, the dessert was just as great as the rest of the meal—delicious and clearly made with care.
Hooks has officially made it onto my list of favorite spots. Highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t already. 10s...
Read moreWe just recently moved to town. Our realtor told us about this place. Then, we found out that our neighbor is the owner (or one of the owners). We had to check this place out. Upon entering, the atmosphere was warm (on a cold, December night). The staff was friendly. The menu was mostly seafood (I mean, what do you expect? The name, and atmosphere says it all). However, they do have some other items on the menu that were not seafood.
Fast forward to the food: As a prior cook, I can tell they take pride in their food. The food placement on the plate was beautiful- well, at least for mine, it was excellent. The kids got a cute, little plate with their delicious food. Oh! And, let me back up to the fresh-baked bread… amaze-balls! Everything, I mean EVERYTHING was wonderful. Hats off to the chef, and the staff. Thank you for a...
