Whiskey Prime was disappointing all around. The cuisine and service didn’t live up to the expectations. We paid a high price for mediocrity.
First off the menu... It's poorly printed on dark paper. The restaurant is very dark at night, so it was terribly hard to read this menu, especially the wine menu as the typeface was printed very lightly. The price of the bottle of wine we got was misprinted and we had to pay higher. : (
Our server was super nice, but he was green and couldn't answer many of our questions without ‘checking’. We ordered. First thing out was the House Salad. For an $11 salad ($8mp+tax&tip), it was about a cups worth of iceberg lettuce, flavorless cheese and stale croutons. I asked for a vinaigrette and received straight balsamic vinegar.
For dinner, we had the only fish special available that turned out to be Rainbow Trout that came from waters 1,000 miles away (disappointed that it wasn’t a locally caught fish). The rainbow trout was overly fishy and less than fresh. The beurre blanc was broke, but the grits were stellar!
The chicken breast on the Chicken Parm dish was overly tough (either from low quality meat or they defrosted the raw chicken in hot water). The resulting fried chicken was burnt black on the back edge. There was no browning of the flavorless cheese topping (browned cheese is pure flavor). This Chicken Parm was dry, as it had very little sauce. There was no garnish, a little green herbal garnish would have been a nice touch. Overall, the Chicken Parmesan was, again, disappointing.
The table next to us got Steaks. The 4-ounce beef filet looked extremely petite on that large white plate with no garnish, no drizzle, no sauce, no sides, no love, no soul and no creativity. At $50 ($38mp+tax&tip) for that lonely, tiny 4 ounce scrap piece of beef tenderloin looked… pitiful.
We all expected better. Not...
Read moreThis place I was told was pricey but the food was great. So we tried it. The place was not busy 1 group of 4 and 2 groups of 2 plus my party of 2. We where sat and the hottest informed us that she would be our serve and to be patient. After sitting there for 10 min (no new customers) we finally get asked our drinks. After another 10-15 min we finally get our drinks and she walks away. We sat there another 15 min and a different waitress asked if we had our order taken(which we had not 45 min in now) and proceeded to take our order. My date at this point is annoyed and the seat she is in sits way lower than the tables it was a booth that ran along the wall and it was sagging so she was just not comfortable. After being in this restaurant now for an hour and 20 min (1 more group of 2 came in but the party of 4 left) our food finally arrives at the table. The lamb was pretty good no lie but the pasta Julia I had was almost not edible. The asparagus was not cooked properly and the noodles where cooked to long and very soggy. I didn't finish it gave it to my chickens at home. Our glasses where empty most of the night and took us another 20 min to get the check and I'm glad I had cash because waiting anylonger for someone to do thier job that night was truely horrific. I hope the owner can fix the service issues here and speed things...
Read moreSomething has happened to this place. I removed my prior review to add this one. We walked in at 8:23 p.m. Online it says they close at 9 p.m. One of the prep cooks (not sure if that is the correct title) looked at her watch 3 times and rolled her eyes at us. Her behavior was so rude it caused the entire experience and atmosphere to be ruined. The only nice person in the building was our waitress. The tuna dip was $25 dollars which I felt was outrageous considering it had fat nodules throughout the entire dish. The employees were literally silent and non-communicative the entire time we were there. We did not recognize any of the employees - all of them are new and did not leave a good first impression with us. For somewhere that costs $100 plus every time we go they only had Barefoot cabernet to offer. We don't mind paying for good service and food, but both were lacking tonight and I am so disappointed that one of my favorite places literally appears to have turned upside down. I would also like to mention that after all the eyerolling and attitude we received, we ordered, ate, and received our ticket by 9:01 p.m. I would love to speak to a manager about our experience and would happily change my review if things...
