Read moreIt pains me to write this review. After all, this is a fun concept in a sweet little town. Unfortunately, the $175 we paid for our room just did not seem to be a good value and I think it's important that people considering this hotel realize what they are getting for their money. Our room was a lower king. The interior photos of the room are accurate and the room is nice enough. Nice linens, bath products, a/c, wifi, etc... A little off-putting that they want $2 for each bottle of water, especially when MS faucet water is less than desirable to make coffee with. Tge way the place is depicted on their website, it appears to be a boutique hotel that caters to its guests to give them a pleasant experience. I won't say it was unpleasant, just not above and beyond in any way. There is no reception area of any kind, no front desk to help with anything, and little direction of where to go upon arrival. Our room was located in a dank hallway behind the restaurant, which smelled vaguely like Bourbon street. The room was very dark and we couldn't really open our blinds because the room faced a parking lot. Meh. I can't say it was really bad, but I just expected much more. If I had it to do over, I'd stay somewhere else. That said, I'm sure the people with the balcony upstairs had a better experience. I understand there is a new owner who is trying to improve the property. I hope that he does, because it has great potential. It just needs some tweaks to make guest feel valued and...
Read moreBe prepared! Not a good experience! Best part: Location is very nice. Worst part: everything else! Booked the best 3 rooms over a Holiday weekend. Paid full price as you can expect. 1) fine print, stairs only, no elevator. 2) ac not working in one of the rooms. 3) coffee machine didn’t work. 4) replacement coffee machine didn’t work. 5) dishes from previous guest were left in the dishwasher. 6) a pair of someone’s underwear was left in one of the nightstands. 7) all of the bathroom containers for shampoo and such were completely empty. 8) door codes given were changed several times before we arrived and we had to worry about whether there was going to be a problem getting in to the rooms upon arrival. 9) the hotel is not manned, which is the case now in some small boutique hotels but this made the door code issue more of a concern if there was a problem. 10) the wi-fi service was terrible. couldn’t do anything on my laptop or ipad and tv service was spotty for the same reason. 11) the faucet in the suite bathroom was loose and the sink drain was semi stopped up. water backed up and had to allow time for it to slowly drain. To sum it up, too many things went wrong and all of them were avoidable with better attention to detail and proper management. No response from owner...
