The food was not that great for the amount of wait time.
The wait time was terrible and should not be happening at all for any restaurant. We arrived at 3:40pm.
My wife, 2 yr old and I sat down by 3:42pm.
By 3:50pm, we placed an order of plantains, french fries and fried yuca for appetizers. For the main course, we placed, at the same time of the apps, an order of Ceviche mixto for me and Chaufa mixto for my wife.
At 3:55pm - They served us the pitcher of chicha morada with three glasses.
(During this long gap we finished the chicha morada and were dying of hunger)
4:45pm - They finally brought out the plantains, yuca and french fries (thatâs only took them 55 minutes for some simple apps)
(My baby loves few shows fries and yuca. The plantains were for my wife and I. We all were starving and these bad boys helped ease the hunger)
5:03 pm - Finally, the Ceviche and Chaufa made itâs way (the average cooking time for each of these dishes are 30min. This place took 1 hr and 13 minutes)

The food is not that great for that amount of wait time. Why did I go there? My wife and I live down in central jersey, but we had to go up to Belleville for an event. I have a good friend recommend me this Peruvian restaurant in Passaic. I usually head to âla tia Deliaâ if I am up in north jersey. I basically asked my wife if we could try this new...
Read moreWe ate chicharrones de Paiche they were really good, we got jugo de cocona which was AMAZING I really recommend it, it's like a passion fruit juice but with a nice twist. I enjoyed it a lot, we also got kokona special which came with tacacho which was awesome, is like a mash fried plantain with some crunchy chips inside, cecina which had a really nice smoke flavor, I would describe it as a thick bacon with a nice smoke flavor, it also came with juane which is rice cooked in banana leaf, that wasn't good you can tell that that wasn't fresh it was dry and it had a boil egg inside that was super hard and old and the last thing it came with was chorizo which was good but dry. Service was OK after we finish eating it took the server around 30 minutes to come to us to pay, we were the only people in the restaurant so there's no excuse to take that long but overall it was a good experience, I would recommend if you are in the mood for some exotic...
