El Pollo Gordo — Restaurant in Paterson

I was here over the weekend with family for dinner. I was never here before, so I wasn't sure what to order. I heard the fried rice dishes were good, but decided to order the Lomo Saltado. (Chicken, fries, rice, onions, tomatoes) It was amazing!! The green sauce on the side was so good!! There was enough food for 2 people on my plate! The price was beyond reasonable as well. Looking around, everyone's plates were FULL. The food comes out exactly as it appears in the photos online. My only issue was that before going, we googled the site and menu, but when we got there the menu was slightly different. The online menu showed tostones and maduros, but they don't serve them here. The male Colombian cashier has worst customer service skills I don't know how he still there after all this years .. the chicken is bad and burned .. the seafood is really bad .. the only good thing here is the fried rice . (Arroz chaufar). It's looks like they have a dirty kitchen . Since you see the cooker smoking outside in the streets and the cashier in front handling money and dealing with the food . Service was fine lady at the front counter friendly good came out quickly packed up with utensils and napkins and sauce no problem. But when I opened the trays horrible! The rice was super hard not even cooked! I ordered white rice with half a rotisserie chicken and chaufa mixed(chicken and beef) the only good thing was the rotisserie chicken the white rice was hard not cooked through and the chaufa was also hard not cooked through! This place has fell off I use to eat here once every 2 weeks and it was delicious now I wouldn’t bother to waste your money here for undercooked food. Btw it was $35 for those 2 dishes....
