I was revisiting from out of town and was asking all of my family members which shawerma spot they would recommend. I've lived in Jersey for 10 years prior to the visit, so I've tried all the OG places. I received multiple responses, but I chose this place because I really trusted this cousins taste in Syrian Shawerma. I ordered the chicken and....THIS PLACE SLAPS! It would totally pass a blind taste test! The ratio of ingredients in every bite was absolute perfection! Although I asked for extra garlic sauce on the side, it was not used or needed at all.
I took away a star because of the lack of hospitality. The woman in the front was yelling at the guys in the back from the second I walked in. She was creating such a toxic work environment. At one point she involved the customer while arguing with one of the cooks to help prove that she was right. I was appalled! I was so embarrassed for both the customer and the cook. God bless the cook for his patience. That tone and demeanor should never be used in public, let alone with co workers.
Syrian places usually have the best hospitality, this was not only lacking, but extremely uncomfortable to watch and be present for. This lady is going to chase away everyone she works with, and will probably chase away the customers too. As a customer who is looking forward to coming back, I hope to never...
Read moreThe chicken and beef shawarma here are decent but these shops are a dime a dozen on main st. I’ve been coming here since they opened but I will not be returning after my last visit. I waited 10 minutes on line after placing an order on the phone 15 minutes prior to arriving and being told it’ll be ready in 15 minutes. While on line waiting some random guy friends with the owner cuts the whole line places his order and picks up his sandwhich right on the spot. When asked the owner laughed nervously and said sorry. If you ever wondered why sometimes you order and you come in and your food isn’t ready it’s not that they didn’t start it but they gave it to someone who walked in most likely a friend who didn’t order on the phone. There’s a shawarma shop across the street called Shamis with much better service. There’s also Ala Kayfak down the street as well as Reem Al sham. All great places to eat and like I said a dime a dozen. This shop is nothing special I was only going there for the convenience. It’s too bad their...
Read moreThis place came highly recommended as one of (if not) the best in Paterson, NJ competing against another well known establishment. Let's cut to the important stuff. Food was fantastic (can't go wrong with a chicken/beef mix), they were both flavorful and super juicy. Fries were crisp and had a great seasoning on it. I like that the menu had other options to do meat over rice or a quesadilla. They accept card and cash. Don't expect to eat in this place if you have a large group, they have a 3 person counter indoors and outside in front are two tables with 8 chairs that get taken fairly fast. Place gets packed quick, pro tip to call ahead if your not into waiting in line or having to stand in a small crowded place. The woman in front is like a literal octopus handling all walk in plus phone orders. It was impressive! Also note, if your going to take photos or videos she requested kindly to leave her out of it ❤️ Now, is it better then the competition? 🤔 I think that's for you to decide and the only way you do is...
