Brewster's Food and Spirits/Dyckman House — Restaurant in Paw Paw Township

My husband and I drove all the way from Port Huron to Paw Paw to clean headstones in Bang Cemetery. By the time we got here we were both famished. It's late afternoon on July 4th so we thought it was going to be fast food. Until he found Brewsters. And WOW. There is nothing negative we can say about our experience here. The outside was nice and clean. Inside, sure it's dated a little, but there is so much to look at, you don't even notice. Very clean bathrooms! Our waitress, Lynn was probably one of the best waitresses we have had. Very friendly. Very attentive! The food....amazing. We both got steaks and they were cooked perfect. So good. However that isn't the best thing we witnessed. While sitting enjoying our phenomenal meal, we started to see customers jump up and help the waitresses clean tables, wipe them off...one gentleman even took a sweeper to the floor! I watched in absolute amazement as a lady gathered glasses off a table, a gentleman bus the table and they all moved like a dance that they had rehearsed just for that moment. Will we come back if we are ever in Paw Paw...

Thus far, have tried every restaurant in Paw Paw. Brewster's is by far the best. We usually get take out and most restaurants don't cater to the carry out customers the same as the ones who eat there. This place does. We were pleasantly surprised to find a hot fresh baked loaf of bread and sweet cream butter in with our food. Everything we have ordered has met expectations and then some. Tonight i ordered the Applewood smoked full rack of ribs. They literally melt in your mouth. Not too sweet or spicy but perfectly in the middle. They don't skimp on anything. The mashed potatoes are actually potatoes and not something powdered out of a bag. The veggies and salad were super fresh and the fried mushrooms are to die for! I am super picky when it comes to eating out and i have not found one thing i don't like about this place. Firstly, the wait was very long but it was a holiday so that doesn’t affect my review. My wife and I both asked for a water with our drinks, and we never got one. I actually yoinked an untouched water from a neighbor table after they left. I ordered a simple cheeseburger, and was given a burger without cheese. The burger was well overdone, and after waiting for over an hour I didn’t feel like waiting for them to fix it so I just ate some of it so we could get on with our hour and a half drive home. After politely asking for it to be discounted, the waitress offered free dessert. But we voiced that we had a long drive home so we wanted to get going. So the burger was not discounted and nothing was done. I know this isn’t the waitresses fault but the managements. Our waitress was very friendly and other than forgetting our waters I have nothing bad to say.
