Sullivan's Publick House — Restaurant in Pawtucket

Had a Sullivan’s Public House Burger delivered by Grubhub, and was a huge fan, went in person and was a little underwhelmed. Poutine app was average. I would have liked more cheese curds and a thicker gravy, but I’m a huge poutine fan so it was nice to see it on a menu around here. I am not huge fan of the steak fries for poutine, which is how Sullivan’s prepares this dish. Moving on to the entree, house burger - again this was very good. It may be the staple of the menu, however. Ordered the Mac n cheese as a side which looks amazing online, but isn’t fantastic in person. The bread crumbs weren’t crunchy, it was almost like it had been sitting in a fridge and heated up. My guest ordered fish and chips and was disappointed. Dark batter/fry oil was unappetizing, like to see a light crispy batter, which was not the case. Coleslaw was mayo city. Sullivan's is definitely the best Irish pub in the Pawtucket/Bristol County area. The atmosphere there is warm and welcoming, the food is absolutely fantastic, and their extensive beer list gives every person that enters plenty of choice. I have no complaints about the place, and it's all of the qualities above that keep me coming back.

My greatest wish is to see more live music occasionally. I know that it's a small place, so doing that would definitely be challenging, but when I think of an Irish pub, I imagine occasional performances of live Irish music. What would be even more awesome to have spontaneous Irish sing-a-long songs for the whole place. I would even volunteer to help organize and lead such a thing, since it is something I'm passionate about.

We ordered Corned Beef Boiled Dinners here to go for St. Patrick's Day, and they answered the phone right away and pleasantly I might add on a holiday, and told us we could come right down and pick it up. So we did. Food was pretty good and there was no wait. We had come here from another area establishment that we were trying to go to. But we were met there with loud drunks and told we had to go to the bar and order food but we would be waiting all day and night for a table and good luck.
