"Newport Avenue Pizza, please hold" is how they answer the phone. Wait for a few minutes, then they come back. Order two pizzas for delivery. A pepperoni pizza and a mushroom and olive pizza. "OK, hold on." Back on hold...."Ok, one pizza for delivery". Nope. I want two pizzas. One pepperoni, one mushroom and olive. Ok. What did I get delivered? A pepperoni pizza, and a mushroom and SPINACH pizza. Call to inform them of the error..."Newport Avenue Pizza, please hold". Do your job. Realize that that phone ringing is a customer wanting to give you MONEY. Realize that you will never get my business again. Please hold.
*Update * Just tried again. After 3 years. Answered phone, placed order abd ask for my total. I ordered two calzones @ 14.25 apiece and was told my total would be $42. I asked why and the woman on the phone said "I don't know, I just put the order in and the total comes up. Delivery charge maybe?". I said no, you have free delivery, she said they did not, I have the menu in my hand that says Free Delivery. She basically wouldn't question the total. Machine says 42. 42. Never again. Wish I could...
Read moreOrdered a simple large pepperoni pizza well done at 8:30 pm and was told it would only take 15 minutes to be made over the phone and I was asked if i could make it there in exactly 15 minutes when the female proceeded to giggle on the phone - feeling rushed I said yes of course. Showing up at 8:46 pm to pay for the pizza and then tell the staff their hours say they're open until 10:00 pm on Google and that should be changed if they weren't open until that time. While being there another customer was calling and the gentleman cooking the pizzas instructed the girls to NOT pick up the phone and ignore the call. Why not just tell them you would be closing and no longer taking any orders? Not my problem I guess, however I get home to only find out the pizza I had been rushed to pick up and pay for was already cold and it was 5 minutes from the pizza location to my home. Very upset with this experience and do not plan on going back simply because I paid for a hot dinner not a cold pizza I could've bought from Stop and...
Read moreI stopped by after having the handmade wooden lettering offering Haitian food catch my eye on my last few passes. I ordered the fritay goat and a bottle of Couronne fruit champagne with a wait time quoted at 15 minutes. I returned in about that much time and took a seat at one of the two small tables in the customer area, and was told very apologetically that it would be a few extra minutes. Again, when my food was ready, the staff were very apologetic for the wait time, with which i had no problem with in the first place. Suffice to say despite not really being a sit down restaurant, the hospitality is excellent. As for the food, the goat was crispy yet tender with plenty of meat and not too much bone. The plantains were perfectly fried and salted but the star of the show was the pikliz with the perfect balance of vinegar and spice. Large portion and reasonable price; I am excited to return and try other menu items. Thanks to the staff for a great...
