Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Peabody

I absolutely love this place but the sanitation is AWFUL. They’ve been getting worse as time goes on. Just now I ordered and the guy taking my order kept wiping his nose with his hand, then the woman who made my smoothie wasn’t wearing ANY gloves and stuck her bare hands into the fruits and spinach while moving her hair and rubbing her eyes. Again I love the idea of this place, the smoothies are great when the employees follow sanitation rules but I’m done going. It’s too bad because this place is such a great idea but the lack of sanitation is what’s bringing it downhill.

EDIT: Owner obviously did not view video footage or else she would have clearly seen the blonde woman reaching into the spinach with her bare hands and rubbing her eyes and hair. Not to mention no one washed their hands. I left this review originally in hopes it would help the sanitation there so I could continue going there since I mentioned above how much I love the product, but instead was called a liar from the owner below. Why would you actively try to lose a customer rather than fix the problem? All you have to do is better train these young kids, not blatantly deny what I literally saw with my own two eyes. This also wasn't the first time it's happened and I'm not the only customer to notice. I'm just the first to be that disappointed to make time out of my day to come on here and complain about...

This weekend Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Peabody was celebrating their grand opening with $1.99 smoothies and flatbreads. I went in morning and got a Paradise point smoothie, the Caribbean Jerk Chicken bowl and the sweet potato side. It took a little time in line waiting, but to be fair the line was out the door, which was expected as it was grand opening and the promotions. Once I ordered and paid, my order came out really quick. Everyone was very friendly and they were efficient in getting everything out! They had so many people working and had an assembly line for the smoothies. I got home and EVERYTHING was delicious! I loved it so much that my parents and I after dinner went back so they could try it. This time I got the Beach Bum smoothie which comes with chocolate and you can choose white chocolate or dark chocolate. I chose dark chocolate. It was just as delicious as my morning visit! I will definitely be back as it isn't too far from work! If you can go then go it...

I’m a loyal customer of Tropical Smoothie and regularly visit the locations in Saugus, Swampscott, and Peabody. Unfortunately, the Peabody location consistently disappoints me with its service. Last week, I went there for lunch. The store wasn’t busy, but the staff were joking around and forgot to make my quesadilla—I had to remind them. Today, I had another unpleasant experience. After waiting, one staff member handed me my food. When I asked about my smoothie, another girl yelled at me, saying there were only three of them working. A different staff member, who seemed a bit more professional, took over. Then, the girl who had yelled at me said, “She got this,” and pushed the smoothies onto the table without saying another word. This level of service is frustrating, especially compared to the friendly and efficient experiences I have at the other locations. I truly hope the Peabody team...
