Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Pearl

Well I had the privilege of being waited on by a very rude cashier named Teryanna T. On my visit to Church’s tonight. Never have I been treated so rudely by a cashier because she made a mistake, not me. I’ve been going there for 27 years and have always had a pleasant experience whether inside or drive thru, but not tonight. I asked for a 3 piece dark special, 2 thighs and leg and could I have a cup of water. This is my usual order an i never had any issues with it before. She rang it up and said total is $4.27 which was wrong. I questioned it quoting price of meal as $2.99 or $3.00. She says”the water is $1.00” . I say “Ive never had to pay for cup of water” to which she replied “this is the cup” and showed me the large cup. I said “I wanted the small cup of water which is free” to which she replied “you didn’t ask for a complimentary water and we are out of those cups so we have to charge $1.00. I said “I’m not paying $1.00 for water. She said she would have to cancel the sale and it would take 2-3 days to credit back to my card which was already showing the pending sale. I said fine cancel it. By this time she was agitated, especially when I commented how instantly they got my money, but it takes days to get it back. I had also asked for a receipt showing the credit, but that’s not available. I commented that had she informed me they didn’t have the complimentary cups we could have avoided charging my card incorrectly. I guess she didn’t like that I was correcting her on how should could of handled it to avoid inconveniencing the customer.She then rudely says “do you want the food rung up on this card or not, or do i need to get a manager? I said “maybe we do need a manager” to which she goes to the back a says “ you need to come ring up this man” and he asks why and she says “HE IS BEING RUDE” I calmly reply “NO, I’M NOT BEING RUDE, SHE IS THE ONE WHO IS RUDE. Manager is apologetic, ask what happened, apologizes more to which I say “you don’t ave to apologize, she is the one who owes me an apology. He takes my order, give me the cup of water and she doesn’t apologize Guess I should of asked for the complimentary water which I have never had to do in all the years Iv’e...

If there were more stars, I would gladly score them higher. I was there Thursday night, and I was impressed by the service, the kindness and, of course, the food. There were generous servings, and the order was packaged properly. There was plenty of condiments. I drove from the reservoir area to Church's because I think the prices are better, the chicken has larger pieces, and I love the honey biscuits. I lived in Pearl for many years, and Church's was my go to place for chicken, always. Since moving to the reservoir area, I still faithfully patronize the Pearl Church's. I find it well worth the drive. I can't say enough nice things about this store and the employees, especially the ones working last night. I was there about 9:00. I only wish that there was a Church's in this part of town. That would be great! I will continue to drive to Pearl for my chicken, vegetables and the delicious honey biscuits. I would highly recommend them to anyone that's ready for good food at a really reasonable price. Thank you, E. Jane...

DON’T EVER agree to wait for the chicken to finish cooking! Before the stated minutes are up, they’ll bring out your order with the chicken not cooked thoroughly!!! They take it out of the fryer before it’s finished cooking and give it to customers anyway!

Original chicken is NEVER FRESH! It’s nasty! Spicy is great IF it’s been cooked thoroughly.

They will give you just whatever flavor or pieces of chicken they have ready, no matter what you order. Be sure to check your order well BEFORE you leave!

Their ownership company has repeatedly been notified about things going on here. They never correct the issues! They say to take the food back for replacement. It’s just replaced with more food with the same or different issues, so that does absolutely no good.

It’s really sad and pathetic that they won’t do things right. Church’s is delicious if the food is prepared correctly and it’s fresh. It’s really a gamble what you’ll get and whether...
