I do not recommend this restaurant at ALL!!!! My family and I were treated poorly and they refused to serve us on Saturday, 2/19/22. No we were not causing any problems or being rude. We were given salsa and chips after being seated and my sister began coughing and needed water due to the spicy salsa and no one said anything or asked if she needed any assistance. She had to beckon for someone to bring her water and the young lady finally did. Then our waitress finally came over and asked what we wanted to drink and we were given our drink order but after that, she never came back to take our food order. Several customers came in after us and were seated and their orders were taken. We kept waiting for our waitress to come back and take our order but she never did. She stood around talking and laughing with other employees but kept looking over at us as if she was waiting for us to leave. My family got fed up and left from the table and walked out the restaurant but I stayed back just to see if anyone would even say anything to us and they didn't. Our waitress began speaking in Spanish and kept talking to other employees as they watched us leave. I am not the one to play the race card, but that's the only reason I could see that we treated poorly and were not served; seeing that all the other customers were white and we are black. Our server is a delight. I ordered The Happy plate with shrimp and added the vegetables. Pretty repetitious with it. Love it. I count on that full plate of food. I hurt myself eating half of it Then hurt myself again later that night eating the rest of it. Delicious. Don't get me wrong, the food taste great. I'm disappointed in the kids plate that was slid to me from around the corner booth my companion and I were in. Had to stop him. I added vegetables to that. He was back in thirty seconds to slide it back at me with a spoon of veggies dumped on the top. Mentioned the portion to the server when she circled back around. She said she would see what she could do and we haven't seen her since. There's so many options in town here for this cuisine, I believe I will return to one of them next visit. I've made this review while we are here. We have finished eating. Still haven't seen server. Very thankful for the Margarita. My date ordered the Three Cheese Enchiladas. He enjoyed them. If you're looking for a true taste of Mexican cuisine keep looking. I grew up all over Arizona and spent over 20 years in Tucson. I've had the real deal made by my friend's abuelas and real food from the authentic hole in the wall restaurants. The cooks apparently don't know how to wrap a burrito. The enchilada was not shredded beef but ground beef paste that looked like it was actually cat food. The manager swore it was a white corn tortilla for the enchilada but I know the difference and this was flour. The enchilada sauce was ice cold like it came out of the fridge. The saving grace was the chicken quesadilla. That was really good and the hot salsa is worth asking for. Add the Modelo on tap and it helped with the other massive disappointments.
