Update: contacted the owner who responded below - never heard back. So, I contacted a competitor, Ricky Hood, who was able to fully assist me over the phone.
The reason this is a 1 star review is because giving 0 stars was not an option. I have had very few customer service experiences worse than my experience with A1 Appliance, and I would caution anyone before using them.
My washer broke. I am not a handyman, and certainly don't have the resources and capabilities to fix a washer. However, via Google search, I figured out what was going on with my Whirlpool washer, so I called Whirlpool in hopes they would have a technician handy to fix the issue. Of course, this occurred on a weekend so no one was available. In fact, it turns out that Whirlpool outsources their repairs to A1 Appliances in the Jackson area. Whirlpool instructed me to call A1 and schedule an appointment for them to come and fix said appliance. Once again, it was a weekend, so I had to leave a voicemail.
48 hours later, I received a phone call from an A1 representative stating that a technician was en route to my house to fix the appliance. 1) I had never scheduled this appointment or given them any of my information. 2) I was at work at this point, so I informed her that no one would be there because I was at work and could not leave, and my wife was out of town. She basically told me (in not so many words), "sucks for you" and told me she'd call back later to schedule a time to come out and fix the washer. After I leave work 630pm, still no phone call so I called back and left a voicemail requesting a time to schedule. To my surprise, I received a phone call 8pm that evening from an A1 representative, who was actually very nice, to schedule the visit. I told her that tomorrow I would be able to leave work early, with 2pm being the absolute earliest, but this would be the only time this week I'd be able to do so. She told me that they'd schedule me in for NO EARLIER than 2pm.
The following day, I get a call at 1130am from a technician stating that he was in my area ready to come and fix the appliance. I informed him that I was at work and was unable to leave, so he'd have to come back between 2-4pm, like I requested. He told me this was not an option and that this was the only time he could come. He then gave me his supervisor's # to call to sort things out. I called the supervisor, who very rudely informed me that their policy was that every appointment is "approximately scheduled," and that the customer was really at the whim of the technician. She told me that if I couldn't make it out there at that moment, then I would have to reschedule. We rescheduled for Friday morning. This morning, the technician came by the house and I took him to where the washer/dryer was. He immediately looks at me and says, "I can't fix that!" When I asked why, he told me it's because I had a stackable unit. He then essentially berated me for not informing A1 that my washer/dryer was stacked. I told him that no one asked about my appliance and he told me that it was my responsibility to give that information. He then told me I'd have to reschedule but it would be at least another week before someone could come out. In the meantime, he asked that I unstack my washer and dryer before someone else comes back out. Then he left.
I will absolutely never seek work from A1...
Read moreI can't say enough about A-1 Appliance in Pearl. We showed up there at 2 p.m. yesterday only for Google Maps to announce as we pulled in that they "may be closed before we arrive." Since we'd driven over, I decided I'd at least try the door before leaving. To our surprise it was open. So we stepped inside the dark, obviously closed store. A gentleman emerged from the back, and I asked if they were closed. He explained that not only were they closed but it was his day off and he had just stopped by to retrieve an item he'd left in his office. Then he added (thankfully) that he'd help us anyway. We heard angels singing and harps playing as he typed our model number into the computer and sold us the heating element we needed. He then went on to explain to us how to install it. We thanked him profusely and were about to leave. As an afterthought he recommended we grease the bearing and added how we could tell if it too needed replacing. He explained they often squeak before they go out, which is what causes the heating element to burn out. We looked at each other because we knew that poor dryer had been squeaking for months. So we stepped back to the counter and asked if we could go ahead and buy that part too. This very nice man, on his day off, an hour after the store closed, hustled right back into the stockroom to retrieve yet another part for us. You really just don't find customer service like that anymore. If you need anything at all as far as an appliance or an appliance part, I'd recommend vising A-1 Appliance on Pearson Road in Pearl.

Read moreI appreciate the helpfulness of the gentleman in the parts department and the main reason I’m giving the review is because it’s HAAARD to find good hart(ed) People these days! My fan stopped working on my refrigerator and I called around to check who had the part and for what price. Everyone around that had the part or could get the part was pricing it at $120+, so I found the part online for a fraction of the coast. When I went to replace the fan myself i rand into some issues the main one being I didn’t want to mess the fan up. So once I got the whole part off I was left with two options either by the whole part from somewhere else ask for assistance. I stopped by A1 parts to check if anyone could help but well prepared to pay the cost. He took a look at it and said yeah it’s not supposed to be this hard hold on once sec, he brought it back with the fan off and put it on the motor that I had bought and didn’t charge a thing. It’s hard to find good help and ppl these days others would try to tear your moth out with prices for a job that really doesn’t take a lot of effort and a part that’s literally a fraction of the cost. This man did this for me for free. He could’ve told me to by the part from him bran new and put together but he didn’t and he helped me put it together. I appreciate that to the upmost. HIGHLY...
