First Visit to El Compadre Tacos & Birria in Pearland, Texas
We ordered a Birria Torta and a Birria Taco with cheese. For the main dish, we chose the El Compadre Plate de Carne Asada, served with charro beans, rice, and tacos de birria. The tacos de carne asada and the torta were delicious. The charro beans and rice were fresh and excellent. The carne asada was grilled in a crispy corn tortilla filled with carne asada and cheese.
The birria is a Mexican stew made with blended chile peppers, simmered with beef stew meat. It was very delicious! We were served cilantro, lime, and chopped onion as condiments, with Mexican rice and beans on the side.
Atmosphere: The air conditioning was not set at the right temperature, making it a bit hot inside. Additionally, the ventilation needs improvement—upon entering, it was smoky inside. The cashier opened the door, which finally cleared the smoke.
Drinks: They offer Aguas Frescas and Mexican Coke. Unfortunately, there was no iced tea available, so we opted for water as we are conscious of maintaining our sugar levels.
Overall, we had a nice experience, and I would rate it a 4-star restaurant. It could definitely become a 5-star with some added improvements, especially with the A.C. and ventilation. We will...
Read moreI went here yesterday with my wife and we loved it. They use very simple and fresh ingredients but the sum of their parts is what makes this place special.
Fantastic quesobirria, amazingly simple and delicious tacos, and the condiments and sides that are brought to the table are very plentiful and flavorful. Pickeled onions, cilantro, a big stack of cut limes, handmade rojo and verde salsas, it's all great. I was really shocked by the charro beans. They looked bland and underseasoned but I was so wrong. So much flavor with the perfect spice level. I could happily slam a huge bowl of those charro beans, they're great.
My only complaint is that it is a little warm and it could use the AC thermostat to be set a little lower. I was mildly sweating the whole time I was there. Still definitely worth a visit and a HUGE upgrade from the business that used to be here which I have reviewed in the past but will...
Read moreSo I came here last week I say around Tuesday night and we grabbed dinner. IT was delicious! This was my first time so I order the street tacos with soft corn tortillas and chicken inside of it. I was given chopped onions and cilantro and green and red salsa on the sides which was very thoughtful for anyone who may be picky and opt out on fully loaded tacos. Since it was taco Tuesday it was during the times of their taco promotions. I chose Mexican coke and top it off with a added (for charge) refried beans and rice. My guest ordered charras beans and rice...we will be coming back! Idk if they will be open during the x Mas eve or day but I was gonna say their x Mas decor are cute to look at. I loved their pink tree xD oh before I forget their single unisex bathroom is well stocked and clean. U guys its worse visiting this hidden gem if ur...
