We had a party of 8 people celebrating a family member's birthday on a Friday night. We were seated within a reasonable time and our server greeted us pretty promptly, asking for drinks orders. After bringing drinks we ordered our food - 2 separate orders. The salad and bread sticks for the one order came out fairly quickly. Then we waited. It seemed like it took an unusual long time for 2 pizzas. Then when they came there were tons of onions and green peppers piled mostly in the center. One pizza was supposed to be half without onions and peppers. There was hardly any sauce on the pizza and there just really wasn't much flavor overall. Our server had said she would be right back with parmesan cheese and hot sauce for our pizza, so we waited a few minutes before starting to eat. She never did come back and must have forgotten because the next time she came back to check on us, we were almost finished eating. There was no point in bringing the parmesan and hot sauce at that point, which is too bad because it would have likely helped with the flavor. Our checks were brought to the table, but no one came back to get them, so we weren't sure if we were supposed to pay the server or pay up front. I had cash and needed change for the tip, so I waited. The person with the other check went up front since he was paying with a card. I finally got the attention of another server who went and got our server so I could pay and get change.
As far as the atmosphere of the restaurant goes, it was clean and decorated nicely. However, it was freezing in there! We were seated in a back room, so maybe it was just that area, but the A/C was definitely working! A...
Read moreThe waitresses are always great here! I won’t be going back to the Pekin store though, because of the following problem. First I want to say that I have been screwed over a couple times at different restaurants and had people fill in the tip area after I signed and gave the receipt back only to find out later on that more was drafted from my account. I always leave a tip in cash and never include it with my debit card. Last night I used a new card and noticed that the amount taken out was about 17.00 more than what I signed for, so I called up and talked to the manager, not to accuse but just to make sure that it was still the 70.99 taken out and that no one added a tip, like previously at other restaurants. I felt the manager was rude and at the end of the phone call, I started to say thank you for your help, the phone seemed like it slammed in my ear. I thought management was there to help customers and answer questions??? I guess I was wrong! He did tell me that it was a hold at my bank, and if I needed a copy of the receipt he printed one out and I can come and get it, but no thanks for eating there, no generous attitude and no bye, just slam. We will drive to Morton for our weekly Monical’s fix. I seriously don’t know how I could’ve been any nicer during...
Read moreWooooow, what a let down. Me my wife and 2 step girls as well as my daughter who's Birthday was yesterday , thought it would be a good idea to all go out with my father that drove down from the Quad cities, for my daughters first b day. Was told by half of Pekin that this place was excellent. Nothing could be futher from the truth. Service was average . But the Pizza was Satan awful. Cracker doe burnt crust, hardly and toppings. Pizza was thinner than paper. Either 80% of the population of Pekin likes the above description type of pizza, or they're nuts. The most mind bending part of this bad experience was that everybody there was eating the pizza with a type of ecstasy look on their face. To. To add insult to injury, at least five different times we told the hostess and server that it was our daughters first birthday. Atleast expecting a happy b day song from the staff and maybe a small dish of ice cream. ... nothing. Is it just me or doesn't 97% or more of pizza places in the continental United States do this for their birthday guests? 3 thumbs way down. NOT a family friendly...
