El Cazador Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Pell City

My original review from 6 mo ths ago was Food service and atmosphere is always good Updated review this has been my go to mexican restaurant in leeds and pell city until today and today they lost my business forever. I order her 3 to 4 times a month sometimes more over the past 2 months the service has lost its luster. On 3 out of 6 occassions in the last month I have called made a pick up order and received an incorrect order. The first 3 times I ate what I was given because I didn't want to have to bother making the 20+ minute drive back to pell city. But today I ordered for myself and grandkids my entire order with the exception of one dish was wrong. I can not have rice in any form and my plate was loaded with rice touching my other food so because I didnt receive 2 of my grandkids orders at all I had to go back to the store to get what they left off upon taking my order back filled with the rice I can't have they refused to remake my order sent my plate back with the rice all over the other food on my plate and an order of what was missing on my dish. I will not be going back here again.if it were the 1st mess up I would give them a second chance but it has become a common occurrence. So I highly suggest finding a different...

This is one of my favorite mexican restaurants anywhere close to me. The service is always good and the food has never been less than excellent to me. We decided to go with family before the Christmas parade in pell city as did half the rest of the town. We had reservations and all went well with food and service until they got busy once they got busy I got the feeling of being rushed for the rest of the night so that they could serve each customer that came in and I did not like that at all. We made the reservations with the understanding we were gonna be a little while for our visit there due to we were with family and was gonna want to take our time so that we could catch up with our family and upon explaining this to them was assured it would be no problem we could spend as much time as we wanted and this was true up until they got rushed with the other half of town. This is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars. I would have even been ok with just having a short stay if they had not assured us we could take as long as we wanted before our visit with them. I was very hopeful for this restaurant as we arrived in town. However once we got in I got the feeling we were not their priority.

Place was half full, and couldn't get our waitress to come take our order. The other waiter saw us looking hopeful, and turned his attention back to his phone after he took care of his table and sat back down at the bar. Took off one star for having to wait twenty minutes to order and generally not getting the feeling we were important.

Food came out quick and hot after ordering. Plenty of food, however I found it to be bland in comparison to other similar dishes at other Mexican restaurants. They offer a special red sauce that has the kick the food needs, and it is unfortunate that it is a side offering and extremely spicy instead of being incorporated into the dish. Took off one star for being bland and the refried beans being so-so.

Dos Equis amber came out cold, in a frosted mug, and reasonably priced, so leaving them with 3 stars. If I'm ever in Pell City again I don't think I'd try this again, might have been an off night, but I will...
