Wendy's — Restaurant in Pell City

I don’t write reviews very often but if I were a manager or owner of the Wendy’s in Pell, Alabama near the Walmart SuperCenter, I would want to know my customers’ experiences. I travel a lot and have visited different fast food establishments many times. At approximately 7pm, we pulled into Wendy’s. This particular Wendy’s was disgusting! Not only was the floor and most tables out front covered with dropped food and trash, the condiment area was unkept, too. Nothing was stocked and I was told there were no napkins... that they were”out” ( I was going to clean a table for my family to sit). The kitchen floor was filthy, too. As far back as I could see there was food, and what looked like dirt, on the floor and under the equipment. The staff’s uniforms even looked dirty, wrinkled, untucked, and just generally unprofessional. The staff also acted as if it was a burden to be helping customers. The icing on the cake was watching one of the cashiers pack a customer’s to go order with no gloves on while touching her fries and her half wrapped burger with bare hands after he had just typed on the register. The customer noticed as well and asked for different food and for someone wearing gloves to please pack her order. It didn’t take me long to decide to eat somewhere else. Before leaving, I used the restroom facilities (out of necessity) since I didn’t think I could wait. As luck would have it... no toilet paper and the bathroom didn’t show signs of having been cleaned in a while. Because I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, I tried to justify my experience; however, I counted 6 employees and the place was not busy. Lord forbid whoever was working the morning of July 17th. That woman was BEYOND rude. We waited in the parking lot for the store to open, pulled around to the speaker waited a little over 5 minutes nobody came, so I pulled around to the window and woman came to the window, opened it and just stared at me. I told her I was trying to order but nobody came to the speaker. She said “I’m not open” I said I’m sorry I thought you opened at 6:30 she then told me that she wasn’t serving anything because she didn’t have a cook. She raised her voice at me. There was cars behind me as well. She could have been nice and said I’m sorry we aren’t open yet because our cook is late I’m sorry for the inconvenience but instead she was very rude and since she said she was the one who opened the store, I assume she was a manager. I would think the managers should also know how to cook along with know how to do everything else in the store but then again what do I know? I know that she’s going to slam that window open and stare and not speak to the wrong person one day if she keeps up with that attitude. And I really hope this isn’t the kind of managers you guys hire and approve of. Because you’ll loose customers left and right. I for one know I will NEVER be back to the Pell city location. I got two of the 2 for $7 deals. This was 2 singles, and 2 chicken sandwiches. It's been since 2012 since I last ate at ANY Wendy's. I have to say this surprised me that both of my sandwiches were like 2 regular sized sandwiches. I expected smaller "slider sized" type food in this "special" and was surprised to get 2 normal sized sandwiches. I got full and so did my wife. It was well worth the deal. Even with a medium fry added, it was less than $18. And I see by ordering on their app, I just pulled up and told them I was there to pick it up. They made it in a few minutes after I got there so I left with very hot food that was still hot when I got home. That helped with the whole order. I was glad they waited until I got there to prepare it. Good thinking on their part. They were nice, and pleasant, however, they were outta spicy chicken. No worries, I probably didn't need the spice. The regular chicken was good, tender and all white breast. It was good. This food was better than I expected. After I got home and ate I got notifications through the app about getting reward points for future free food so that was a plus.
