This was my first visit to Douce Lounge—and it definitely won’t be my last. I came out for a poetry event and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere. The vibe was everything—chill, inviting, and full of good energy. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer, even after the show ends.

The lounge itself is very spacious, which I appreciated. It didn’t feel overcrowded, and the layout made it easy to move around, mingle, or just relax and enjoy the night. The music added to the experience, with just the right mix to keep the mood alive without overpowering the performers.

Now let’s talk about the food—because it was definitely on point. I ordered from their happy hour menu and tried the griot tacos, which was a first for me. Griot (Haitian-style fried pork) in taco form? Game changer. Flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfectly balanced. I’ll absolutely be getting them again on my next visit.
