So I used to be a regular at Marcos but after my most recent experiences with this store I think I’m going to change that. When I was first introduced to Marcos about a year or two ago it was run by Alejandro and his service along with his staff were impeccable and the food was unbeatable for the price. As of recent it seems like the ownership has changed to a new manager named Eduardo and you can tell. I have tried ordering at this location a few times and was left disappointed unfortunately with the service and the food. I was told by Eduardo himself when I spoke to him that my order would be ready in about 20 minutes only to come in and be told that my pizza was not only made wrong, but that if I wanted a new pizza it would be an hour wait time as opposed to to the original 20. I asked for any possible reimbursement or if I could get a refund and got told that it was already in the oven after 40 minutes of waiting. It was during these 40 minutes that I saw Eduardo and a few other employees dancing to music and talking about me in Spanish. This unfortunately is not where it ends and I had another instance of this behavior a few weeks prior. I was speaking to Angel on the phone and he was very respectful and sympathetic when I told him that my order was not only late but smashed when I came to pick it up the night before. I expressed to him that Eduardo had told me to call back tomorrow and I asked when he would be in, he had told me that he would be working a closing shift that evening, so I called back and when I asked to speak with him on the phone he rudely told me that it would 30 minutes after rushing me. When I arrived at the store, I noticed he was just arriving as well and he smelled of marijuana smoke, he walked into the store after me and whispered to another employee while pointing at me then the other employee handed me my pizza. I asked for Eduardo specifically to talk to him about my order and his eyes were red and the smell continued to linger as he stood there, so I ended up cutting my loses and leaving. I will not...
Read moreFirst let me preface myself by saying that I take pride in giving honest accurate reviews, and really hate giving negative reviews because I know that especially in these times, businesses thrive somewhat off of reviews. I previously raved about this Marcos location and how the staff was so friendly and the product I purchased was beyond amazing. I can’t say that about my visit today. My favorite item is the crustless bowls. I love a lot of meat. Photo 1 is the bowl I ordered that I raved about. I ordered it with pepperoni, bacon, Italian sausage, ham, steak, and salami, with Parmesan cheese. The bowl is just as I ordered, all most full to the top of the bowl. It was so heavy when it was handed to me and was so delicious. Photo 2 is the bowl I ordered today, I ordered the same meat and actually added meatballs which means it should’ve been even heartier. The two bowls are distinctly different. I saw meatballs, some ham, and sauce. When the bowl was handed to me it was considerably lighter. I inquired with the young man behind the counter if all the toppings were in the bowl. He really didn’t respond to me, just stared, i just left it alone and asked for silverware and he still just stood there looking at me and another associate had to tell him “hey he want silverware”. I know that sometimes things happen but I like consistency especially when I’m paying for a product, that’s what keeps customers coming back. I am not saying I will not return to Marcos, I love the pizza bowls that much however I was disappointed with the service and the product I received this visit. After previous visits it was obvious to me that Marcos prides itself on great product and it appeared that good customer service was important too. Neither occurred during this visit and I’m hoping that measures will be taken to give consistent quality customer service and high quality product that I know Marcos...
Read moreI really wish I could leave a glowing review for Marco’s as I have ordered their pizza for delivery multiple times without issue and really appreciate the quality of their product.
However; my experiencing today with take out changed my opinion of Marco’s Pizza as a business entirely.
In December, Marco’s sent out direct mail with coupons that had a clear expiration date of 1/31/2024. These coupons had no specifics on delivery vs. takeout, etc. I wanted to use the coupon for 2-Topping large pizza for $10.99 today.
I ordered online for take out and tried to apply the code for the coupon but was told it was invalid. Ok, no problem. I paid in full online and went to the business for pickup hoping to get answers there.
This is when I lost all faith in Marco’s.
I showed the cashier the coupon and asked if anything could be done.
Cashier: “It’s expired.”
Me: “It clearly shows an expiration date of 1/31/2024, today is 1/1/2024.”
Cashier: “Oh it’s a mistake, it’s not the first time this has happened.”
Me: “So there’s nothing you can do?”
Cashier: “If you call it in over the phone, I can try to apply a discount.”
Me: “But you can’t apply anything to my order now?”
Cashier: “No.”
My disappointment and frustration is directed solely at the Marketing and Sales Operations of Marco’s. Get it together or you will lose more business from previously satisfied customers. What was the point of spending your marketing budget on direct mail coupons if the printed expiration date isn’t accurate or worse, your own staff isn’t trained on how to input it or your website isn’t updated to accept it? What kind of business model is that?
Very...
