Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo things before I get into this review: I'm a long-time customer. Went to the Jupiter location 36 years ago the year that the Ale House opened it's doors. The Ale House has been in my rotation ever since. I don't normally review and do so under two extreme occasions: the experience was absolutely STELLAR, or the experience was absolute TRASH.
This review speaks for itself....
As a prologue to this particular review, I think it's important to add this tidbit as reference: It's been a few months since my penultimate visit, where we made our appearance for the Prime Rib on a Thursday night. It was terrible. Overcooked, salty, and I've literally had Canadian Bacon slices with Eggs Benedict that were thicker.
Today was worse.
Went for the Steak Fajitas and am dumbfounded why they took it off the menu. It's only THE most popular thing they had on there. Reluctantly, I ordered the 12 oz. Ribeye Steak, medium rare with veggies and a salad.
Salad showed up first and the bowl it was in literally had a smear of old butter, about an inch long, on the inner surface that extended onto the lip of the bowl. How the waitress missed it was mind numbing, but there it was, in all it's nasty, disgusting glory.
When the steak came, it was more in the 9 oz. category, and when I touched it with the blunt handle of the knife, it was clearly overdone. I made 4 cuts to check doneness and as expected, it was medium well. Hungry, I cut a piece and ate it. (So....in college, I would sometimes take a frozen, sub choice sirloin steak out of the freezer, thaw it in the microwave, throw some salt on it, and cook it on a cheap pan.) This steak tasted EXACTLY the same. Same flavor, same texture, and same lack of enjoyability - except that THIS ONE was much more expensive.
Sad that this place has spiraled to such a low. I promise, it really used to be way better. That was a different time, though, and it seems those times are now forever gone. Miller Ale House, unless something significantly drastic changes my opinion, you're officially off this guy's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a MAH customer for years at different locations. But maybe I should have listened to some friends who told me about the bad vibes at the Pembroke Pines location? I invited 10 employees over for dinner. When we arrived, 5 of us sat down waiting for the rest (eventually 3 couldn't come so it ended up being 8). The receptionist was very nice and told us to take one of the 5 free tables that were available so we sat there. After a minute a š¤·š»āāļømanager?? came over to ask: " how many of you are there going to be?". (NOT hello, hi, my name is..nothing!). We said: right now 9 or 10. She then proceeded to literally bark at us. No! I need to know now if there are going to be more than 8 so I'm setting up another table! š¤. So we said sorry just for now we are 8š¤·š»āāļø. She then walk away annoyed . The atmosphere was bad at that momentš«£. After a minute my friend asked this person something about a burger on the menu. This person stared at him for a while and yelled I AM NOT YOUR SERVER!!! YOU MUST WAIT FOR HER!!! with a HORRIBLE ATTITUDE! My friend was in shock. We were about to leave this place due this disgusting situation when our waitress showed up with a big smile and said hello my name is..., and changed the horrible toxic atmosphere completely. We just finished having a fantastic dinner as always at MAH. But we were 1 second away from leaving the place with a horrible feeling of being mistreated by a horrible person. I want to complain about this situation, my guests were exposed unnecessarily. Before we left, we asked for this personās name and we were told that she was NOT a manager but a waitress named SANDRA. So, I would NOT recommend going to Miller's Ale House in its Pembroke Pines location if people like this employee mistreat you just because she was in a bad...
