Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Pembroke Pines

Wow this was really bad. So bad, I have to write a review to save anyone else from going here. I came in thinking I’d get something healthy and quick. The kids behind the counter were in their own world. I ordered a hummus veggie wrap and baked lays. For starters they didn’t manage to get any part of my order correct. When they arrived with my order I was given vinegar and salt chips and some sort of chicken wrap. Whats worse was the wrap was full of frozen chicken and uncooked rice, hummus, and veggies. When I asked if there was supposed to be frozen chicken in the hummus wrap they seemed confused - the wrap said veggie - they checked the wrap saw the chicken, I pointed out it was frozen - they shrugged and took it back. When they returned with a new wrap, it had no chicken, but it also had no hummus. Even worse, it had frozen uncooked rice, beans and veggies. I asked if I could get a side of hummus since there was none in the wrap. They seemed confused but gave me a little cup of hummus. At that point I should have just asked for my money back and gone somewhere else. The wrap was absolutely disgusting and truly inedible. Imagine eating frozen uncooked rice with lettuce. The kids seemed unfazed and unable to read or cook their own menu. I’d skip this place altogether. For a lot cheaper I could have gotten a healthier meal even at a Taco Bell. Big time...

Disappointing Experience at Tropical Smoothie

I visited the Tropical Smoothie location around 9:15 PM, well within their operating hours of 8 AM to 10 PM. However, I was met with incredibly rude service that left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable.

Upon entering, I was ignored by a representative who walked past me without acknowledgment. When they finally addressed me, it was under their breath and without direct eye contact, making me feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. Additionally, the open sign outside was not lit up, giving off an unwelcoming vibe.

Despite being in plain view, one of the female representatives stayed in the back of the store and made no effort to assist me. When I attempted to place an order, I was informed that they were no longer making anything, even though the store was scheduled to be open for another 45 minutes. The dismissive attitude and lack of effort from the staff were disappointing and unacceptable.

Overall, the customer service at this location has severely declined. It's evident that better etiquette and professionalism need to be instilled in the staff, especially considering the family-friendly and working-class neighborhood this establishment serves. Until improvements are made, I would caution others against visiting...

Bad first impression... I love other Tropical Café locations, but it was a miss with this one, and that's without even buying anything. Went on a Sunday; their hours online claim they closed at 8 PM. We arrived at around 7:25 PM, and noticed the "open" sign was turned off, but we saw people inside so we went in. As we were looking through the menu to decide what sandwiches we wanted, the cashier was taking care of other things - perfectly fine. 7:30 hits and we're ready to order, and THEN she lets us know that the kitchen is closed (when we had been looking at the food menu for 5 minutes already), so we can only order smoothies. Half an hour prior, and you're closing the kitchen already, when a big portion of your menu is food? You're a new location; you have to make a good first impression to the locals. Wondering if the owner knows that they're closing the kitchen out a half hour prior to closing. We ended up leaving because we really wanted food, paired with the smoothies. Disappointing... may try again in the future, when this location can get their stuff together. Bummer. Hope the franchise...
