Zserbó Bakery — Restaurant in Pembroke

We own another bakery in the area and have checked out a lot of bakeries around the South Shore, so we know what top-quality baked goods look like. Let me tell you—Zserbó is outstanding.

Under Anita’s recommendation, we tried her carrot cake, a cream puff cake, some cookies, and croissants, and every single thing was amazing. Zserbó nails it all—the quality, the service, and even how the space is well utilized and everything is neatly and beautifully displayed. Be prepared it might take you some time to explore all of her delicious product lines.

The cream puff cake was perfectly flaky on the outside, with fresh, cloudily light cream inside that wasn’t too sweet—just the way we like it. The carrot cake smelled incredible, was super moist, and the cream cheese frosting had such a great flavor that my wife, who bakes for a living, said she could learn a thing or two from it! We’ll definitely be back to learn and get some more specific Hungarian treats next time!

My first time being at this bakery. Yesterday was my son’s 13 birthday. My son and I walked into the bakery and this is how our conversation went. Me- hi we are looking to purchase a birthday cake do you have any?

Baker- no I just sold my last one. You should have ordered one (attitude voice) that’s what people do.

Me- as a customer I don’t have to order anything but as a baker you should bake more cakes.

Baker- go some where else and get your cake!( walks away while we exist) While exiting I mention how rude she is and no need for it.

My son was shocked and so was I. I don’t even know where to begin because my son who is turning 13 was speechless. I had to explain to him not everyone is like her and there are nice people still left in the world. The very first time I walked into this amazing bakery, a definite “hidden gem”as some other reviewer appropriately called it, I actually felt like I was in a bistro in Europe somewhere! Was I suddenly on a vacation! It felt like it! Well time to enjoy something special! The atmosphere was so warm and inviting and the owner made you feel like you just stepped into her kitchen! The young ladies who work with her are so friendly and helpful!! I think I became addicted after the first bite of her scrumptious blueberry muffins! Not like the store bought kind but filled with many fresh blueberries and oh sooo moist! Now add a cappuccino and I was hooked!!
