We stopped by for lunch on a road trip, and were pleasantly surprised by Mac's Bar & Grill! We were told to sit wherever, so we decided to seat ourselves in the bar area. It took a moment for our waitress Meagan to bring us the menus, but once we had our orders placed our food came out very quickly!
The Tater Tots and fries were seasoned perfectly, and were golden crispy. The ranch and fry sauce dressings were also very rich and creamy. I'm not a big fan of Sweet Potato fries in general, but still enjoyed them, and the rest of the table all agreed that they were some of the best they've had.
The country fried steak was a very generous portion of steak and potatoes, but ran a little salty and the breading didn't stick to the steak very well. The broccoli and green beans that came with it were fresh and great.
The chicken quesadilla tasted like canned chicken and didn't have enough cheese in it, which for $14 is a little disappointing. I didn't try the cheeseburger, but was told it was pretty good.
Meagan was very friendly and quick, and checked in with us a good amount of times. However, after we paid, our table and the rest of the food were cleaned up in front of us too quickly to stop and say we were...
Read morethe waitress walked right past my table and went to 2 others who came in after me and handed out menus and took drink orders, i stopped her on her way back by and told her we had been waiting longer and that we were ready to order and didn't need menus, she made a half hearted apology and took our orders. i ordered lemonade and upon tasting it took it up to the bar for a sprite instead bc the lemonade was very watery. i don't know if it was just an off night but then i received my food which wasn't right either and at that point it would appear that everyone working was new, or complacent. the reason i rate 4 stars is bc even though my waitress took awhile to get to me the food is consistently great and actually my favorite place on the west coast to get the item i ordered. for the most part the servers and waitresses are enthusiastic and friendly and no one can be perfect all the time. highly...
Read moreFirst off, I tend to hate bar and grills because they count on TVs and beer to make up for terrible food and service. So I went into this place with an unjust attitude towards it.
I had a hankering for nachos and I am new to town. The Distillery was not open for their mound of nachos to be had so I had to explore. The wife and I decided to go for it and I am glad we did.
First, the best thing about the place was the service from the bartender. My wife and I loved her. I wish I got her name. However, she knows how to make drinks and was just amazing with her service as well.
I was also very happy with my nachos. They season the chips beforehand to make each bite tasty. Very good. I enjoyed my mojito. The wife loved her fried pickles with a very hardy breading. They were solid.
Anyway, I'll go back and check out their other dishes and/or if I...
