We used to order from Vocelli's Penn Hills all the time. We liked their pizza, delivery service was reliable, we liked their salads and other food items, and we liked that they used local products and much of their delivery packaging was recyclable. We were really shocked and saddened when the PH franchise closed. When it reopened, we were thrilled, however, sadly, after giving them numerous opportunities, we are done with them!! We gave ordered approx. 6 times since their reopening. Once, after waiting a while after placing our order (i.e., not immediately after we placed our order, but after we had already spent time waiting for our food), we rec'd. a phone call telling us they weren't going to deliver to our place. Since then, we have been able to order and receive our orders without question, however not without problems. Twice they brought the wrong drinks (reg Pepsi instead of Diet Pepsi),;their large salads are the same price as they used to be, but they are side salad size; and, several times, our food was barely warm. Still, we wanted to give them a chance. Today was the last straw. I placed an online order for a med pizza and 2 diet Pepsis. I rec'd an email confirmation that my order was rec'd. at 11.05 PM (they close at midnight). I rec'd. another confirmation that my order was being prepared (del'd to my inbox at 11.11, so things seemed to be moving along fine). It is now 12.53 AM, and we have rec'd no pizza, nor any phone call to tell us there was a problem. My husband came home from working late, expecting the pizza I had texted him about for his dinner, and we waited and waited. Because we have been doing stuff around the house, there was little for him to eat that could be fixed quickly. He's going to bed on crackers and hummus for dinner! I tried to call to find out the status of our order -- no answer. So, that's it. No more chances. The new franchise owner either runs the business poorly, or trusts irresponsible employees, or both. I will call tomorrow and register my complaints, and ensure my card was not charged. The delivery driver lost out, as we tip quite well. It's a shame. Read moreI went to the location in Penn Hills, PA and by far the worse experience I've had in awhile. I've worked in hospitality and service industry for years. I ordered a pepperoni and anchovy pizza ahead of time. I get there and I had to wait 5 more minutes after my scheduled time(which is fine, I get it). While sitting and waiting, 2 coworkers came in with food and was late (I know this because the other worker complained). The whole time waiting, there was a lot of cussing and playing around. I had to walk over because I saw my pizza just sitting there. I checked my pizza and they only put the anchovies on 4 slices. I asked them to put more and to just warm it up so there's no trouble(because I saw them getting backed up). They advised me it will be 5 more minutes. I waited 10 more minutes and walked over to the counter. They forgot about my pizza and it was on the counter. At that point I asked for money back and left. Called back this morning to ask for a refund - the lady was being very accusatory and rude. She was going to refund me a store credit for $2 because the garlic bread was missing from my order. I told her that was unacceptable bc the entire order was very late cold and incomplete. She asked me if I kept the food overnight- like was she expecting me to bring it back in? This lady was so unreasonable. She tried to tell me that from 7:53-8:59 was less than an hour. She then was going to just refund the food - like seriously!?! Fees and delivery tip etc was double the cost of the food. She supposedly gave me an in house refund credit for the whole thing.
