Five Guys — Restaurant in Pensacola

Worst five guys experience I’ve ever had, and I will never order from them again. I actually placed an order through DoorDash. They received a scam call saying that someone had used their credit card. I called the restaurant and explained that I paid via PayPal and didn’t even use a credit card. The manager yelled at me and then hung up. I went to the restaurant because I wanted the food, and they wouldn’t give it to my dasher. When I entered the restaurant I was already on the phone with their corporate office and made sure to get the name of the person who had yelled and hung up on me. After finishing my report, I paid for the food a second time and the manager yelled at me again and insinuated that I was a thief. He had the nerve to say “you’re stealing some old lady’s credit card and they are going to see you because it’s all on camera” and then pointed at the camera. I couldn’t believe it. I have never stolen anything in my life and the first thing I choose to steal definitely would not be a burger. I later contacted their store owner who claimed this was not a fireable offense and offered to send me coupons. COUPONS as compensation for being yelled at and defamed! Unacceptable behavior by the manager and owner. On top of that I discovered the information about the scammer because 1.) they mentioned a payment method that I did not even own 2.) they text me after asking for an additional tip when my dasher clearly spoke Chinese and 3.) DoorDash confirmed that my account was not compromised and that the order had been cancelled by the merchant. I explained to the owner that I used to work for DoorDash and I know how the system works. The dasher does not have access to my payment method or phone number so they wouldn’t have been able to text me outside of the app. If the scammer had accessed my account they would have known the correct payment method. The only account that has that information is the merchant account, so I was literally accused of being a thief because they were the victim of a security breach. 1st time I ate at this establishment. Easy menu . Hot dogs and burgers choose toppings, a few other sandwiches available, ( no chicken) fries Cajun or regular , soda, and shakes. I ordered a double burger topped with ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and pickles, and cheese. Burger was juicy and delicious. The toppings were fresh. I ordered regular fries . The potato’s are cut in house. Fries were very good . Not limp or soggy as many places are. Tip: share fries . They come in an overflowing cup that is placed in a bag . I’d say enough for at least two adults or 3 kids. I also ordered a chocolate shake which was creamy and chocolatey. If that’s a word lol. Also had a cup of ice water. I’m picky about water and even that was on point. Somewhat pricey. Two people with similar items ordered was $44 and some change . The inside is bright, all tables and chairs , no booths, VERY loud mainly due to a staff member calling the orders very 5 minutes. Quite annoying . I did want to mention that I walk with a cane and a staff member was there holding the door open before I even got to the entrance. That was nice and unexpected. Stopped by for the usual great burger and magnificent fries yesterday. Very friendly and welcoming cashier, Mary, took our order. We noticed, while waiting for our food, an older man pondering the menu. He was very dependent on his cane and Mary showed extreme patience with a smile while helping him with the choices. We kept an eye on him as he very slowly made it to a chair and sat down with difficulty. We were concerned about how he would be able to pick up his order and thinking we would get it and take it to him. We worried needlessly as Mary and another employee, George, were way ahead of us and took care of the man with great compassion and consideration. George hovered near the door cleaning tables to be available to open the door when the man departed. We got so much more than dinner there yesterday. We witnessed the best of people and it was heartwarming and brought us confidence in all our futures to see young people with such initiative. Kudos to the Manager as this all took place under his watchful concern while allowing his employees to demonstrate the best service...
