You probably want to avoid this Krystal hamburger fast food restaurant. Went in with the family this morning and ordered 3 three egg breakfast specials from the menu on the sign behind the register. We all ordered the eggs over easy 2 of us had sausage, one with bacon. First off we were the only customers in there so that should have been a hint. A little petite black girl at the register also appeared to be the only employee there. The special says three eggs grits bacon or sausage add toast or biscuits, and that it comes with a small drink. She did not give me a cup for the drink that comes with the combo, so I come back around and ordered the drink and she was going to charge me some three dollars for it I said no never mind. That should have been another hint. We all ordered our eggs over easy, we got them all well done, and they were terrible like rubber. I told my sister-in-law that she tried to charge me for a drink while the special says it comes with a small drink. My brother ordered the same thing except with sausage and he got a small drink cup included in his combo meal, like the menu reads. My sister-in-law asked her why mine didn't come with a small drink like her husband's did, and she replied that she "rang it up different from my brother's combo", (HUH???) then did not offer to make it right, that was just the end of the conversation and transaction for her. In times past it used to be good, but I will never go there again, because the food was bad, the grits were cold, and so was the service as she clearly looked like she was very agitated, and like she was struggling at holding back from going off on us. So I just let it go to prevent it from escalating. With all this being said I will say this as well, this was almost 9:00 in the morning and she appeared to be the only employee in the restaurant, she was taking orders and cooking the food. So maybe some was on her, and some was due to not having sufficient staff to carry on business. I placed my order at 7:21 pm. through the app. On June 26th, I ordered 10 cheese krystals and a party chili cheese fries. It said it would be ready in 14 minutes.
I arrived at the drive thru at 7:33. I figured about 5 minutes to wait in line. There were 2 cars in front of me. As I pulled up to the speaker, you couldn't hear anything but a whisper from it, so I pulled forward. The first car got his order and drove off. The BMW in front of me was asked to pull forward and wait. I hot to the window and told them I had an app order. She (a Latina with tats) asked me to park out front, and they'd bring my order shortly.
At 8pm, I was tired of waiting, so I drove back to the window and asked if they'd forgotten me? She said no, so I asked why my order had at that point taken 40 minutes? She said that's a lie, maybe 15 minutes. I had the receipt I could prove it was over 40 minutes, she asked what I'd ordered (um, if they hadn't forgotten why did I have to tell them the order?) She said they had been slammed yet 3 employees could hang out at the front counter goofing off. Break possible, but if you're slammed, you don't send people on break. That's bad management.
I finally received the order at 8:06 45 minutes after placing the order. The fries were just a regular size, so wasted the extra money for party fries.
Between her attitude, the slow service, and the speaker being out, idk how this happens in 2023.
And the sad part is they weren't that busy, the management or someone needs to look into this and fix it.
No matter how good the food might be, this kind of service and being called a liar will always trump the food!
Update: I sent a copy of this to Krystals contact us, as suggested by the supposed owner. I doubt it's the owner because if it was, they wouldn't send us to complain to corporate when it makes this franchise look bad, and they could try to...
Read moreI visited this restaurant through the drive thru last night. When I got home I realized I was missing items in which I paid for. I called the restaurant and spoke to Charlie who claimed to be the manager. I explained to Charlie that I was missing food and he told me to come back up for the missing items. As I explained I was not wantin to come up at 11:15 he told me “well I do t know what you fu* want then”and hung up on me. I tried to cal back numerous times as did my girlfriend and no one would answer the phone. We then came back up for a refund and he cursed at us and stormed off. When he returned he was ripping up my receipt and only wanted to give me half of the refund. I had him dig my receipt out of the trash where he threw it and showed him the total. He continued to curse me and my girlfriend and eventually stormed off. Another employee mentioned in Alicia’s review was wonderful and helped us get this resolved and said Charlie has had a rough day. Apparently after reading other reviews Charlie has been havin rough days for at least four months. It is unbelievable that this guy is not only still employed here but is also a manager. This was easily the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant.
So to recap this manager cursed me, hung up on me, wouldn’t answer the phone, destroyed my receipt, was only giving me a partial refund, stormed off, all while still cursing me and my girlfriend. Look at the reviews, this is not the first time. I grew up in Pensacola eating at this same restaurant for 30 years but I can promise you if Charlie is not terminated last night will be my last time in your establishment!
Oh and on a side not I’ve heard him tell customers, including myself, on multiple occasions that it will be 20 minutes for Krystals. I’m not in the industry but I’ve never been told that at any...
