It was the worst experience ever at this restaurant. Took me a long time to convince my husband to try this place out but I convinced him about 5 years ago and he enjoyed it so much that we made it a place for special celebrations since it’s so costly. Well this year I made reservations for July 28,2018 for my husband’s birthday and invited some friends to join us and after doing all the bragging and telling them that it’s a little pricy but the experience was well worth it. So there’s 7 of us.got there at the time of reservation and was seated 5 minutes after. Well that was the only part of the whole experience. 15 minutes worth of wait before a waitress came to take our drink order. Took about 10 minutes for our drink orders to be taken.... another 20 minutes went by and still no drinks. After hunting down the waitress we asked about our drinks.....it took her another 10 minutes til she brought our drinks (waitress said they only had one bartender while they had no parking space available in the whole lot and we had to park at the gas station next door and you only had ONE bartender?!?!?!?). We have now sat for about an hour and all we have gotten is drinks. There was no experience of any kind as the cheese appetizer came out already mixed not like it is usually prepared in front of you (what happened to the experience that we were paying for). We asked for extra bread and she brought it when our cheese was just about burnt to the pot. It is now 9:15 and we are waiting on salads which we thought they made a run to the grocery store cause they ran out of lettuce. Aren’t even halfway through the four course meal and we had empty glasses....frustrated.....tired of sitting and waiting. Saw a guy in a blue shirt walking from table to table (assuming he was a manager) asking if everything was good with each table but of course we were bipassed. We watched two tables get seated... ordered....eat and leave before we got our entree. a couple of times we had to find someone to refill our drinks. At this point we were tired of sitting...we were tired of waiting on food....we were tired of drinking ice.....and my husband and friends just wanted to leave. Finally got entree.... We had to turn our own burners on when our entree came. Again...nothing was prepared in front of us (wait she did squeeze a couple of slices of citrus in our pots)......dessert came we asked for extra pound cake and Oreo marshmallows and of course we got them to us after we were ready for the bill. All the fiasco at our table and no manager came. The waitress may have been fairly new but it’s no excuse for this restaurant to put someone on the floor that claims to have high quality service nor an excuse to automatically add a total of $50 tip to our bill. She gave us $20 worth of service. We didn’t leave this place til 11:15. We paid them about $300 for 4 hours of misery. Not sure this will continue to be a place where our hard earned money goes to. I was embarrassed and the restaurant made me look like a fool with my friends cause the experience I described to them was nothing but a...
Read moreme and my grilfriends went to The Melting Pot for one of their birthday. . . Before I start my story I want it to be known that Im completely aware and understanding of the process of this restaurant. I know the time it takes to go through each course and eat because Ive been multiple times, but NEVER in my life have I been treated like I was last night. So there were MANY problems. Let me list a few
We ended up having 4 different servers who were not on the same page with our orders. We would order from one server, but word wasnt passed to the other which in the end made us have to order multiple times and wait FOREVER.
Took over 30 minutes to bring us our bar drinks. Let alone another 30 minutes to bring water. Yes we timed them.
No refills for water. Period.
When our dinner finally arrived we had been there for 3 hours already.
All other tables in the room, including a party of 10, came and went before we even recieved our dinner. They also had the full course experience like us.
So we as a group proceed to get the manager, explain that we weren't happy with the service or the fact that we waited 3 hours for our dinner. She did her manager duties and ended up paying for our drinks and another round (which we never got). . We continued to our dessert and decided to order birthday shots. We ask a server for them since our waiter was no where to be found. We are finishing up our dessert and our waiter comes up to us and asks why we ordered from another server. . .well you were no where to be found. He angrily walks away. Time passes and we are waiting for our shots. Our waiter comes back and we ask him if he can check on our shots and he says very bluntly NO. I asked him excuse me? Then the story takes a turn. . . The manager (who was helpful earlier in the evening) now proceeds to tell us that we need to leave. We are harassing and threatening the staff to the point they are uncomfortable. Other tables are complaining about us as well supposedly. Then to top it all off. . .She then proclaims that we are all too drunk to drive and we must take an Uber home. We all had words with the manager asking where all this came from. She just kept repeating herself that we were too drunk to comprehend and needed to find a ride home immediately. We are then escorted outside and greeted by an officer. The officer told us he was called because we were apparently "threatening the staffs safety". We explain what happened. He then tells us to have a good rest of the night and not to worry about anything. I also want everyone reading this to know that the total bar tab was $55 for 4 people. We all had a drink while waiting for our table to be ready and another with our dinner. We never received ANYTHING else because of the poor service. So thats a total of 2 drinks per person in the 5 total hours we were there.
Im deeply disappointed in how we were treated. The embarrassment. The cruel allegations towards the staff. The cops being called. All of it was over the top ridiculous. I honestly don't know why it turned into...
Read moreI’m rating our experience a one star for only one reason. This one reason made it extremely hard to enjoy the entire night. The air conditioner was BROKEN which made it absolutely miserable. Reservations were made more than four months in advance, so our phone number was available for a courtesy call. We brought our family of five to celebrate our daughter‘s 18th birthday. We celebrated her 16th birthday at The Melting Pot, and she enjoyed it so much that she wanted to go back. This time we paid for the full birthday package. Including the flowers, balloons, box of chocolate covered strawberries, all the extra desserts, and two bottles of wine. However, this experience was absolutely not what we planned and not what we wanted to pay for. We all got dressed up with curled hair, make up at its best, and our nicest outfit...just to sit in our own sweat while cooking over a hot stove. Had we known the air conditioner was broken, we would have changed our reservation to a different night or gone somewhere else. Or maybe worn something more comfortable for the sauna we were sitting in. That experience was NOT worth the 500+ dollars that was dropped.
With all of that said, our waitress was absolutely fantastic! I felt bad for the staff because they were wearing long sleeve shirts and pants. She kept a positive attitude and was as sweet and attentive as can be. And the food was absolutely fantastic, as always! But this is a place you go to dine to enjoy the experience. We could have stayed home to cook our own food in the AC and saved money and time on getting ready to go out to dinner to such a nice place. Very disappointing! All it would have taken was a simple phone call to let us know. The manager on duty didn’t seem to care. After all, they got their money from us. We understand that a restaurant can’t help having issues such as this. But a heads up before being seated would’ve been nice. Thank goodness for our sweet daughter who appreciated the thought of dinner, because the actual dinner was horrible to sit through. And thank goodness for menus which were...
