Before purchasing tickets I called to see if there was assistance for people differently abled, but not in wheel chairs because I cannot walk stairs without assistance and wheel chair seats are blocks of cement meant to put wheel chair on (only disabled seating they show available on line). I don't have a wheel chair, but I have an aggressive progressing condition I was born with.
The arena facilitater, told me to ask for the security manager who would help me to my seat, and so I felt ok to buy a seat, costs over $100, which is alot for me but I wanted to go before I could not ever go anywhere again.
Side note: was told on site parking was free, but when we got there they charged 10$ for parking. When I asked for disability parking the man who took the card (because they didn't take cash, he said) proceeded to take a rude tone with me and said, "everyone's handicapped and there's no spots left". We'll, there were several available which was opposite of what the parking attendant said.
After parking, I didn't know where to go so asked and was told to go to elevator and the security Mgr. Would meet us.
After waiting standing painfully on the hard cement, the security manager arrived and preceeding to tell me to sit on a small metal easy fold up chair with no arms on it right in the walk way of people and vender traffic.
I paid over$100 for seat on 117 section. I cannot seat or be about to get up from chair like that and very uneasy sitting in the traffic area of the arena far away from stage. The security manager replied unkindly to me about my concerns and said he would not assist me to my purchased seat, which was across the arena and down about four or five sections of stairs.
The security Mgr. Told me if I fell or got hurt that it was on me and he walked away.
I was in alot of pain struggling to get across the entire arena, had to take breaks, others pushing me or waking in front tripping my cane up. I broke down crying out of fear and anguish when I got to the stairs.
I had to try to bear hug the reels that disconnected off stairs entirely each section further closer to stage, awhile trying not to seriously injure myself but falling down the flight of stairs and landing at the bottom.
One nice staff member had to ask two people to move so I could get thru them to my seat where there was no room for my cane or any room for oxygen tank or walking devices or any other necessary tools many differently abled people use.
Another side note: It smelled like bad fish the entire show. I cannot say the whole arena smelled like fish, but the opposite side to entrance seating 117 smelled like fish the entire show.
Bottom line**This is NOT a place for people who are differently abled, and yes this is the retirement state so it's unbelievable to consider thru wouldn't, yet concerned I called the place beforehand to be sure it was accessible to my needs.
To be told one thing before buying ticket, and then be treated so awfully when there is because I am differently abled. I called to make sure it work out beforehand, and when I got there was treated like garbage.
They should have negative stars for how I was lied to before I got ticket, and then treated because of my physical disabilities by the...

I’m deeply disappointed with the way my daughter—who has severe, anaphylactic food allergies—was treated at the Pensacola Bay Center during a 4-hour event. We were denied a reasonable accommodation to bring in her medically safe snacks, despite the fact that her condition is a protected disability under the ADA.
A staff member told us to return her food to the car and then arbitrarily decided which items she could and couldn’t keep, even though there was no posted policy for children with allergies. Worse, she seemed to have no understanding whatsoever of food allergies, and neither did the two supervisors we escalated to. Their “solution” was that my daughter should eat Skittles and popcorn—despite her dairy allergy, including to butter. That response was not only ignorant, but dangerously irresponsible.
My daughter requires a dedicated allergy-safe kitchen to eat safely. Reasonable accommodation in this case would have been simply allowing her to bring in food she can actually eat without risking her life. Instead, we were treated like we were being unreasonable, and made to feel like her safety didn’t matter.
The rest of our family had no problem enjoying concessions from the venue. This wasn’t about bringing outside food for convenience—it was about basic safety for a disabled child.
I hope this review reaches the upper management of the Bay Center. It’s time to implement a clear and compassionate food allergy accommodation policy and train your staff accordingly. No family should have to choose between attending an event or risking their child’s health.
Mind you this was all over a 6 year old being able to eat safely over a...
