My daughter and i went in for lunch. There was only 1 other table of 2 who were finished and just talking. We got our drinks rather quickly but then it took our server 15 minutes to come take our order (she was just sitting in the bar area chatting with a coworker). We asked for drink refills and she got an attitude said we couldnt get refills on the agua frescas. I said that was fine but we would still like another one. She was very rude. We ordered 2 tortas with rice and beans. 1 steak and 1 al pastor. The meat on both was burnt. Literally half was just black burnt pieces. They came with tomatoes which wasnt listed on the menu. No big deal i picked them off. They forgot the sour cream and she got an attitude when i asked if i could get a side of it. The cheese dip had no flavor and was like water. I told the waitress. She brought the check i mentioned that she should take the tortas off the bill seeing as they were burnt and we didnt eat them. She gave me a dirty look and charged me anyway. She definitely doesnt enjoy her job and shouldnt be a server in ANY restaurant. Also it was so cold in there half way through i had to get a jacket out of my car. I paid $67 for food we didnt even eat. Worst experience and food we have had. I expected better expecially seeing as this place is located in peoria hieghts. We will not be back
Reply to the "owner" Thats not true. Your waitress had an attitude from the the start. Everytime we asked for something she huffed about it. We did show her the burnt meat on our tortas. Which we did not eat. I was happy to pay for everything else we ordered, the sides, drinks, appetizers. I could understand if it were busy and she was running around waiting on other tables but we were the only people there. Her attitude from the start was uncalled for. Good luck. With staff like that and cooks that dont care about the quality of food they are sending out i doubt you will be open...
Read moreMy husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jalisco Bar & Grill for lunch, and it was an absolute delight. The moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive service from the incredible mother-daughter team that runs the establishment. Their wealth of experience in the industry was evident in every aspect of our visit.
As my husband has to eat gluten-free and dairy-free, we were pleased to find that the staff was not only understanding but also very accommodating. They took his dietary restrictions seriously and ensured that his meal was prepared with care, allowing him to enjoy his food without worry.
We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, which were cooked to perfection, boasting fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring we left feeling completely satisfied.
The chips and salsa were wonderful; the salsa had a rich and balanced flavor that complemented the perfectly crispy, non-greasy chips. Considering the quality and quantity of food we received, the prices were remarkably reasonable, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch outing.
One thing that really impressed us was the vast menu. With so many delicious options to choose from, it was difficult not to find something to suit our tastes. Whether you're a fan of traditional Mexican cuisine or looking for something a bit more adventurous, Jalisco Bar & Grill has something for everyone. Throughout our meal, the friendly staff checked in on us to ensure we were happy with our food.
The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, which only added to our enjoyable dining experience. If you're seeking delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine in Peoria Heights, accompanied by exceptional service and a warm, friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend giving Jalisco Bar &...
Read moreThis restaurante has a lot of potential. The food was really good. We loved the complimentary salsa and toasty warm tortilla chips. The service was disappointing, but I believe it was (in part) because they just opened business. They haven't learned the rhythm of the service or menu yet. There's no fountain drinks, which was odd since they do have a full service bar. Only options for soda were bottles of Jarritos lime, pineapple, or orange. Menu was not well designed. Nonalcoholic drinks should be listed somewhere. Lunch hours should be listed somewhere. I think the lunch menu section would be ideal. Many of the menu items NEED descriptions: what is it? what is it served with? and what is typically served on it? Cilantro is a standard on most dishes. Cheese is a special request.
!!! I was going to order an "al pastor" taco. Luckily, I googled it after asking what it was. I wanted see what it looked like. !!! I'm allergic to PINEAPPLE, and it's an open faced taco with marinated pork. Marinated in pineapple juice and served with pineapple pieces in it. !!! That could have been SO BAD. The fact that it has pineapple in it wasn't mentioned at all when I asked. !!! ((Please Add Menu Item...
