A beans shop with a nice little coffee menu.
I received an email from Leaves ‘n Beans saying they moved their retail roastery and the new location is open for business. In that email, it mentioned that they also have an espresso and tea bar. With that in mind, I knew I needed to try this location out.
So, my dad and I had a free Saturday to stop in while driving around Peoria. As we approached, I was a bit perplexed by the layout as the parking lot was weirdly laid out and there were a ton of semis and trailers blocking the view. But, we zigged and zagged around the parking lot and eventually spied the store front.
We headed in and were greeted by the best smell in the world. Coffee beans. It reminded me of the coffee bean dispensers they used to have in the coffee aisle at the grocery store. As we walked in, we saw shelves and shelves of coffee bean tubs in a lot of different flavors. There were more flavors and varieties than I could ever imagine. While it would’ve been nice to grab some, I don’t actually have a coffee maker at home. I used to, but I hardly used it as I don’t enjoy making my own coffee as it never tasted right or good. My specialty is drinking coffee, not making it.
Any who, my dad didn’t want anything but I snagged my usual iced americano and these cookies and cream espresso beans. With this being a retail store versus an actual coffeehouse, there wasn’t a designated area to sit and sip. I enjoyed my bitter yet delicious americano while we hit up some other stores. The americano had that nice level of bitterness I like without being too strong or too weak. I snacked on the espresso beans while we drove around and they were good, if a bit light on taste but that might just be how these are.
While it sucked there wasn’t anywhere to sit as it would’ve been nice to sit and chat with my dad, it makes sense since this isn’t a proper coffeehouse. With that said, I will say the interior of the place did seem a bit empty. The walls were bare and it just felt like it was lacking something… but if you need coffee beans, this place has you covered. Overall, a nice place to grab a coffee in either bean or...
Read moreI was headed to the leaves n beans in the Heights but was passing this one & had never been here before so I stopped in. I wasn't sure if they were open because I was the only person there. I noticed there were no seats to hang out with friends and it was more of a distribution type of location. They had lots of coffee displayed along with some hats, shirts, and tea makers. I'm not sure if they had seats in another part of the building as I only went in the one room to order a coffee and then left. I wish I had gone to the Heights because I was wanting a Java freeze and this location couldn't make it for me, the worker said they didn't have a blender. I settled and got Creme brulee latte. It was just okay, not my taste actually but now I know. Looks like a good place to buy coffee to...
Read moreSince this location has opened, I visit this once or twice a month to pick up ground coffee for my salon and home. Shannon is one of my favorite people, he’s very personable, genuinely cares and helps me pick gifts for coffee and non-coffee drinkers alike. My favorite is the Jamaica Blue Mountain, which is a nice, bougie treat, that I usually pick up after a long few week. Shannon reminds me that I most definitely deserve Jamaica Blue Mountain when I try to talk myself out of this luxury that I agree, I...
