Herold's Pizza Oven — Restaurant in Peoria

If you're not a regular, you won't know you need to order your kind of pizza if it's not out already on the buffet. The person behind the counter said we have more pizzas coming out, so I got my soda, some cheese sticks (very good, btw), and sat down. Kept an eye on the pizzas coming out and no plain cheese (no meat on Fridays for me, that's why I chose a pizza place). When I asked if plain cheese was going to be out soon, the woman wasn't kind and blurted out if you don't tell us, then we don't know what you want, in a loud and obnoxious tone. When I originally paid, I asked questions, none of which were answered with if you don't see what you want, let us know and we'll make it for you. This place was OK. There is nothing special about it. I briefly perused the menu, so there might be a few things that you may find to your liking. However, I don't think I'll be stopping here again when...

This is our first time eating here and the ONLY reason it received a 4/5 is because of the taco pizza sauce. I think I had higher standards because of happy joes or even Casey’s with their sauce and how it tastes. The sauce here tasted like sloppy Joe and we just weren’t fans at all. If we would have known we would have ordered a different pizza and the review would’ve been 5/5. BUT we lovedddd the crust. We also got the breadsticks and ravioli and they were delicious! The ravioli were a little overcooked and burnt on the bottom but the flavor was amazing. Our waitress was new and only working 3 days but she did AMAZING. She was soooo kind! We will definitely be back and can’t wait to try the buffet. $12.99 with drink included is a steal. The workers greeted us as we entered the building and even as we left to ensure we had a good night. I will update once we eat there again...

I'm giving them 5 stars for cleanliness, service, and atmosphere, but I did not try any of their food. I will say it looked delicious, but I had dinner prior to visiting Tavern 41. My server Joni was top notch, and all the patrons and staff were fun to be around. I'll be heading back soon! Great service. Same pizza as when it was pizza inn. Could use a better beer selection. Used to visit Pizza Inn a lot growing up nearby, and the lunch buffet reminds me of the many trips friends and I made there. The service has been great every time I've been in, and the food delicious. I still love that chocolate chip dessert pizza!
