Wish there was a way to leave a NEGATIVE Star rating! Lets start upon arrival, I noticed only 3 cars in the parking lot. Then I noticed someone setting in a Lawn Chair just outside the entry doors, smoking on property. Then the Big FIRE CODE VIOLATION Hit me! BOTH doors were propped open with wooden blocks, OMG. I should have left right then. Approaching the check in desk I notice the extremely run down appearance of the lobby and back area behind the desk, cabinet doors hanging at angles half open. NO ONE at the desk to monitor who might enter the property. Had to pick up the phone and call someone to the desk. As ( Terrishia ) approached, ZERO customer service. Not Welcome to Super 8 By Wyndam, not a good afternoon. Nothing until I told her I was there to check in and had a reservation. For a King Non Smoking and I prefer on the Hotel side facing away from the interstate. She said that they only fill rooms on the first floor before moving anyone to the 2nd floor, and that all 1st floor rooms face the Interstate. She checked that my ID matched the reservation, and created a pass card. Said your room is to the right down the hall. As I was walking down the hallway all I can smell is Cigarette Smoke and a NOT clean facility. I refuse to call this place a hotel. Upon entering the room, Firstly I was HIT HARD by the STENCH of Cigarette Smoke. I returned to the desk, once again I had to initiate the interaction. I told the clerk that I had reserved a King room NON Smoking as I have ASTHMA. She then informed me that the man in the room next to me, smokes in his room, to just keep my windows closed and it should be fine! I told her I am NOT HAPPY at All. I did return to the room, Never even setting down my things. Checked the window, for security, checked the filters on the A/C they were horrid I pulled them thinking possibly if I rinse them under the hot water in the tub it might clear up. Upon looking in the bathroom. A simply stood in the doorway hit by the smell of Black mold, and filth. Looking at the towels they were SEE THROUGH! The tub had an anti slip mat that had black mold all around it and a lot of hair. I rinsed the filters returned them to their unit. Glanced around for a in Room Smoke detector and Noticed that in the celing was a MISSING SMOKE detector! That was the final straw. I returned to the Front desk, had noticed a man setting inside waiting. He said I'm waiting to check in! I told him I wouldn't if I were him then explained what I had just found in my room. He's like Thanks for the heads up, that's not good! I had to again phone for the front desk clerk. She came from around the corner. entered the desk area. I informed her of my findings and that under NO Circumstances will I be staying at this hotel, nor should anyone else! Handed in my room key and requested that my card be credited for the amount charged. She said that being this close to day of reservation that it was non refundable! I asked even when the rooms are NOT what was Guaranteed ! She said there's nothing I can do. I informed her that I would be contacting Corporate and filing a formal complaint. I then told her I will Drive a few more hours to locate a Suitable hotel. Then left, BTW so did the man setting waiting, he said if things are that bad, I'm not staying either! AVOID...
Read moreIt’s was 2am and I needed a place to stay so I went online to check the nearest hotel. I called and they had availability and booked over the phone before seeing where this place was located. It was in a shady part of town located at a dead end street and the aroma of marijuana was everywhere! I was greeted by a transit sitting outside and there were shot bottles all over the ground under the car port entrance. I had my dog and got a pet-friendly room. As I entered the room the main light was burned out and the room had this nasty odor. I cranked the A/C down to 60 hoping it would remove the odor. As I was putting my water bottles in the fridge, I had spilled some water so I grabbed a towel to wipe up the floor. I couldn’t believe how nasty the floor was! I had to take a photo of the towel but was unable to rise all the dirt out of it. I decided to just get to bed. After pulling back the comforter, there was dog hair all over the blanket. I went to my car and grabbed a blanket to make a sleeping bag as I was exhausted. I didn’t get much sleep because the A/C unit wouldn’t get cold and take the humidity out of the air. I WAS going to make some coffee but the coffee maker was nasty and hadn’t been cleaned. I decided just to shower and skip that but it took over 10 minutes just to get the water warm enough to in but it was freezing cold! I just wanted out of that place so grabbed my water bottle from the freezer and they weren’t even frozen! After checking out, I showed the male receptionist the photos of how nasty the room, explained there was no hot water, the coffee machine being so nasty, the fridge not working and asked for some money off. Lol, he took $8.00 of my bill and said if it was so bad I should have left!! I told him I didn’t realize there was no hot water, the fridge didn’t work and the coffee maker was nasty until the morning when I needed it. The parking lot was filled with people in their cars smoking marijuana and a bunch of shirtless guys just hanging out at the front entrance. Luckily I was robbed when I left and couldn’t get out of there fast enough!! That...
Read moreWe stayed here on our way through the Midwest. Normally, I find Super 8 Motels to be a good value, clean, fairly comfortable, etc., but this was a marked exception. The night clerk could not have been less interested in our being there. No greeting, no "thank you, enjoy your stay", not even a smile.
The beds were very hard and the linens were itchy. Breakfast choices were dry cereal or a waffle - no breads, fruit, protein.
The hotel requires a $50 pet deposit, which I have no problem with since it is refundable at check out. However, when I asked for my money back, I was only offered $33. The morning clerk said that Unfriendly Night Clerk had left a note stating that I had only paid $33 "because that's all she had with her". Um, noooo. I showed them my receipt that I had paid $50, but $33 is all she would give me back. Morning Clerk was about 1 degree friendlier overall than Night Clerk, but she quickly turned ugly when I insisted that I get my entire $50. She then called Night Clerk, who still insisted I had only given her $33. I raised my voice enough for her to hear (on the other end of the line) that I would be going straight to the Peoria Police Department to report her theft of my $17. Amazingly, she immediately changed her tune and told Morning Clerk that "oh wait - it was another room that paid $33..." Yeah, right. Morning Clerk slapped down the additional $17 and turned and walked away. Really? No apology for the misunderstanding? No "Thank you for staying with...
