If I could leave zero stars, I would. I never leave reviews but today is my BIRTHDAY and I made a reservation for 4 people for 6PM. I knew that my party was going to be a tad bit late, so I called to notify the restaurant that we were going to be running late and the host (man) answered the phone and said that it was fine if we were a few minutes late.
Me and my friends show up for our reservation and we waited an extra ten minutes for the host while the staff just stared at us and the long line that was forming behind us. NO ONE came to check on us or have the courtesy to let us know that they were going to be right with us. After waiting for 10 minutes for someone to notice us, the host comes and we tell them we have a reservation. The manās reply was, āitās gone, youāre too lateā. We asked how long the wait would be for us to be seated for a table and initially he didnāt respond and tried to attend to the customers behind us before answering. So then, we asked again how long the wait would be to be seated for another table. The man replies, ā30-40 minutes, we have a lot of customersā.
Did I mention this was AFTER we watched this man LITERALLY clean off TWO tables that were ready for customers to be seated at? Very inconsiderate and felt as if the staff didnāt even want us to eat at their restaurant for something they THEY did. Just plain awful service and completely disrespectful. The quality of Sushi has dropped with every new owner. No excuse for this to happen! The temperature in the restaurant wahe s so cold that everyone was wearing a coat while eating.They could have left the front door opened to warm the room up! Provide gloves and heavy coats for your customers and candles to keep their hands warm as the eat cold Sushi; How about a wood burning stove to keep the place warm. You can only play in Peoria. Schnucks Sushi is so much better than what you have like night and day! Had Sushi from Krogers north end of Peoria so much better than what you are selling it is not even the comparison! With you current terrible review from the health department with numerous violation don't you think now is a good time to throw the towel into the ring and close! It would be in your customers best in interest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYet more disappointing food here in town. The takoyaki was either very overcooked or reheated, the octopus was far to dry and chewy. Also, they used a spicy sauce instead of the normal sweet sauce takoyaki traditionally has on it. I couldn't force myself to eat it all. And the presentation was very bizarre, being arranged on a narrow, deep plate.
Following this up, the presentation of the sushi was bizarre as well. I ordered the spicy crunch roll, and over pice was on its side topped with far too much tempura? Even stranger, the "spicy" roll was no where near as spicy as the sauce on the Takoyaki.
Lastly, I had ordered 2 Yellowtail nigiri....and was only given 2 pieces. Apparently, this restaurant only gives you 1 piece per order rather that the standard 2 pieces most places do per order. So these 2 pieces cost about $5.
All in all, I really couldn't recommend this restaurant. The food was subpar, in presentation, price...
