Mariachi Mexican Restaurant Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Peoria

This place is incredibly mismanaged. I ended up having one of the worst customer service I've ever experienced in a restaurant. I arrived with a group of three adults and a child to eat supper at 6:10 and was told there was a 30 minute wait time. They were very busy so that seemed fine and we decided to wait. That was about the time it took to be seated. We sat down around 6:40. Our server came over to our table with chips and salsa within 5 minutes. He took our drink orders and came back to take our meal order within another 5 minutes. The menu is extensive and on the higher side price wise for what you get, but we all knew what we wanted and ordered pretty quickly. It was now about 6:55. The waiter then took care of our table for another 20 minutes and then we never really saw him again. We waited and waited for our food. At about 7:30 the table who was seated right before us got up and started to walk out. We stopped them to see what happened. They said that half of the tables food was brought out and one plate was completely burnt. They had been there long enough. That got our table really discouraged and feeling kind of wary. As we continued to sit there it was clear just how bad things had really broken down. I saw one woman walk up to a supervisor and say her table had been seated for 20 minutes and not a single waiter had been to there table. Another couple sitting a few tables back was talking to a supervisor and were clearly very upset about the service. They were seated long before us and had no food on their table. We waited and waited and at 8:00 we finally decided to speak to a manager. I don't think I've ever asked to speak to a manager before and we were less angry than just really frustrated and hungry. He barely listens to a sentence before he walks away. No sorry. No reason for what's going on. All that was asked was if there was an eta on our food as we hadnt seen our waiter in 45 minutes. We waited another 10 minutes to see if we'd receive some service after talking to the manager. After having the manager walk by us twice without a single word we decided it wasn't worth it. We got up, told the hostess that we were leaving, and left the restaurant. The reason I'm writing this lengthy review is so, if you've made it this far, you don't make the same mistake we made. Don't waste your time. You'll regret it. This location has been known for being a cursed spot that produce a successful restaurant. It seems the curse will live on and I'll be surprised to see this restaurant make it longer than a year. Not without some...

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night with another couple (party of 4 total with 2 checks) and were seated immediately, then it took nearly 20 minutes to get our drinks ordered when they were not very busy. It seemed like we were seated then the server went on a break. The margarita's tasted like cheap Cuervo pre-mix, our server acted like he really didn't want to be there, and we never got our waters. The only plus is that the food was good (Tacos, Chimichangas (ordered beef with no crema but got chicken with crema, Queso con Chorizo, Chori Pollo and Burrito Grande), but the four of us were each served at a different time over the course of ~10 minutes (appeared that the orders either didn't go in together, or things were forgotten). There are other Mexican places in Peoria with food as good or better, with a better wait staff, preparation timing, and better margaritas for the same price. I hope we were just there on an off night because we LOVE Mexican food and really want to see a restaurant succeed in this location, but I doubt we will be back for a while to let them work...

This used too be a great place to eat. Well not anymore! When they finally decided to give us a table. It took the guy awhile before he returned to get our drink orders. Well of course he took his time returning for our food orders. Then they brought 2 of 4 food orders. Well for some reason they took food to another table before finally bringing our fajitas for two. The kicker was they did not bring tortilla shells for a good 5 minutes. So we just sat there and waited and they finally brought the tortilla shells. Of course the food was cooled down by now. Oh I forgot the lady almost placed the fajita plate on my hand that was not even in the way. The fajitas mixture was bland with the exception of the green pepper taste. The drinks were warm and we had to ask for a couple cups of ice which is pretty sad. While trying to finally eat I made a few comments and they must have heard me. They just kinda gave me a blank look. Well that's ok I have solved the problem. We will not return. We would have probably got better service and food going...
