This place sucked. Came here for my anniversary and was highly disappointed. We got street tacos and the super burrito. Street tacos did not come with lime or cojita cheese. I asked them to grill the onions and was told no (even though there was a flat top right in front of them and they could have upcharged me). In addition, I went up to ask for the lime and could tell the workers were immediately annoyed that they had to cut more for me (this also explained why I didn’t receive them). In addition, the chips I ordered were made out of i’m assuming pinto beans, which is fine but I do wish it actually stated that on the menu. It says “good tortilla chips” but they clearly taste like some sort of bean. Had I known this I would not have ordered them. We ate our tacos and some chips because we hadn’t eaten in a log time but each only ate a bite of the burrito. For spending over 40 dollars the food was gross and the employees were lazy. If looking for tacos I would...
Read moreIt’s exactly what we wanted it to be. Solid tacos (Chilaquiles and a pork) and Supreme Burrito. Got bean dip to give it a try, was forgettable. It’s a modern taco truck experience in a wealthy/touristy area, not Guadalajara Real on a side street near the up and coming neighborhoods with cheap real estate. So, it’s gonna be priced that way… You can find $6 Cinnabons around the corner too, that’s just the area.
Food expectations: If you’re used to eating all over, it’s a 3.5 in Mexico or Cali, 4 in TX/AZ/NM and 4.5-5 most anywhere Midwest, East, SE. I wouldn’t hesitate if hankerin for tacos, and will be back to try the rest of the menu if it stays open. Not sure if it does as I can’t easily find if it’s seasonal or not.
Portion: Average to slightly below on the tacos as one was a lot smaller than the other and I might have been hungry still if I got 2 of those instead of 1 of each,...
Read moreOn our way back from Mackinac Island, we made a quick stop in Petoskey and stumbled upon Happy Taco Shop, so glad we did! We ordered five tacos, and it honestly wasn’t enough. The shrimp tacos were hands down the best I’ve ever had—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. They had a perfect zing to them as well. I also tried the hamburger taco, which was good, but I found myself wishing I had just ordered more shrimp tacos!
The setting was a pleasant surprise too—an outdoor picnic-style area with a chill, laid-back vibe. There were a few other food trucks in the same area, music playing, and drinks available, making it feel like a casual summer hangout spot. Definitely seems like a great go-to for locals and visitors alike. Highly recommend if you’re...
