One of my favorite parks! It's a pretty good size park (25 acres) along the lake and has lots of different facilities and amenities. You can spend a whole day here. The city marina is part of the park. There is a boat launch too. The history museum is there. Even the city hall is part of the park. My favorite place in the park is the clock tower area. Lots of benches along the walkway heading out to the tower. You can then further walk all the way out to the pavilion at the end of the pier. Near the clock tower there is also a medium-size playground. It has two separate areas for young and older kids, each with a play structure of its own. There is a baseball field and a cafe near there. At the west end of the park (not all the way out to Bayfront Park West), there is an open area and another pavilion with picnic tables and grills. Closer to the east end, there is a kid's fishing pond, a waterfall and stairs connecting to the Sunset Park above. There are trails all through the park. I saw many people with dogs...

I saw big ones and litte ones and a very large Newfoundland. The waves on the shore were not anymore but out on the Bay they were starting to gather Whitecap strength. You can view the long dock for the Ferry boat and when the colors of the hardwood trees leaves change the hillside drama of exasperating sights will capture your aura and transport your inner self to a tranquil consciousness formed from ages of forest and trees. Visit the Park across from Downtown Petoskey where the man, POPPA, swam and dated the fair lady from town. Or visit the General Store out by Walloon Lake where Ernest summered in his youth . Enjoy , be still and be grateful for the chance of being part of...
Read moreBayfront Park in Petoskey is an absolute gem! The park sits right along the beautiful Little Traverse Bay, offering stunning lake views and some of the most peaceful sunsets you’ll ever see. There’s plenty of space for walking, jogging, or just relaxing by the water, and the landscaped gardens make the whole place feel so calm and inviting. I loved strolling along the paved pathways that connect the marina, playgrounds, and scenic spots — it’s perfect for families, couples, or anyone just looking to unwind. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the views, and the park is kept very clean and well-maintained. If you’re in Petoskey, this is a must-visit spot for a relaxing afternoon, a picnic by the bay, or simply soaking in Michigan’s...
