Thai Orchid Cuisine — Restaurant in Petoskey

When I tell you my expectations for a thai place in northern Michigan were low, I want you to picture someone drilling for oil in the grand canyon. That's how low they were.

This place still managed to go lower. I ordered Drunken Noodle. For those unframiliar, this is usually a spicy egg noodle dish with a bunch of veggies & usually pork or chicken thrown in.

What I got was undercooked egg noodles, old grey-green bell peppers & rubbery chicken with absolutely no seasoning. When I say "no seasoning" I want you to understand, not a little seasoning, not "too little for my liking" seasoning. No seasoning. There was not a speck of pepper or sauce on this except for the oil they used to cook the chicken.

If you went to the walmart that's 5 minutes from this place & bought a thai lean cuisine, it would have more seasoning & flavor than this dish did.

My girlfriend got Pad Thai with the same unseasoned chicken, but it did come with peanut sauce on it that tasted like it had gasoline or some other chemical mixture in it.

Overall the people rating this place 4/5 stars either just walked out of an asylum or have never eaten thai food in their lives. I would strongly recommend you to take the $20+ dollars you're considering giving this place, go to a grocery store & buy 4 lean cuisines. You would be eating like a king...

TASTY, BUT BUYER BEWARE!! As a local I visited Thai Orchid tonight for the very first time. Thought I'd "test the waters" with a small appetizer takeout order. From the menu in the window I selected A4. CRISPY ROLL (6 Pieces) $8.00. I was a bit surprised when the order rang up at $9.50+ Apparently they increased prices.

I took my order to a park bench and was shocked to open the box and see (6 Pieces) was actually 2 rolls cut to 3 bites each. Nearly $10 for 2 small rolls! How dishonest. Misleading at the least. With that logic why not call it an 8 piece or 10 piece and just cut the 2 tiny rolls into smaller and smaller bits? Imagine ordering 6 piece nugget only to discover 2 nuggets cut 3 times each. Put the 2 rolls in blender and claim 100 pieces! Unnecessarily dishonest and disappointing! Ridiculously overpriced. Service was also 1 of 5 stars.

I went on a date on vacation for dinner at this Thai restaurant. I was very excited. Waited 20 min for a table. Still excited to eat thai. I spent an hour getting ready.The service was terrible. A young gal with stupid braids waited on us. We ordered an appetizer. I ate 2 spring rolls and asked for extra sauce. I never got sauce. She brought the check. She didnt ask us if we wanted an entree. How dumb can a server be. No entree or dessert. Just the check no sauce. I asked her if she was kidding me. No, she was that dumb. That clueless.
