I am very happy to have a local music shop in Petoskey carrying high quality instruments! Gary, the owner of the shop, is in there regularly, and i can tell you from a few conversations that he has a passion for guitars. I prefer shopping here to online because you get to hold and test the instrument first, and as we all know, not every axe is built the same!

It's very cool to see Taylor's and Guilds hanging from the walls, i appreciate the beautiful instruments he's selected to carry.

He is a talented repair person as well, as this shop is a Taylor authorized repair center. I brought in my Taylor mini GS koa top and he set it up in about 45 min, shaving down the bridge nut, lowering the action (perfectly) and lowering two frets that were causing buzz. I would recommend calling first as he splits his time between Gaylord and Petoskey locations.

This shop has guitars at every price level. What I didn’t know was that the shop very unassumingly stocks almost all the best guitars money can buy too. I stopped in today and was shocked at the amount of guitars that are of the “if I could have any” type. Outside of the city, you never see the Fender Custom Shop or Martin, and if you do, it’s a store that has been known for it for 100 years. This is an asset to the community. Amazing place. Always tells me honestly what I need. Ward is one of the best guitar shop owners I've seen. Told me how to return a guitar guitar centre(happened today) that was really unplayable and as well, told me of a guy who (might be able to fix vintage guitars. Gave him a call, went there, and it was around $50 to fix my guitar, for what most would make $300 to fix. Not the cheapest place in the world, but I'd rather spend 5% more to actually be treated like a person, and not a walking cash printer. God speed, and God bless, ward....
