We liked this place a lot and really tried to support them during covid since they’re local. They were even who we mentioned to people visiting town looking to eat out. We wont be going here again nor will we recommend them Because they overcharged us $10 on our ticket and refused to refund. On the phone the female owner said she would refund me and then when i show up to get my refund they refused. They needed an “itemized receipt” of our order but never supplied one during check out. The new receipt they supplied even says “play nice but no $ (meaning money)” so they never planned on refunding us. This is entirely the owners fault because she changed her mind mid-refund. Making a mistake is one thing, but then doubling down and thinking we are trying to scam them, even though they have no proof on their end, is just bad business. They couldnt even supply the meal ticket from that night (3 days ago). If anyone knows how to get stolen money back from a situation like this, let me know.

I went a few weeks back and entering the place, I couldn’t figure out what the theme was. It had bud light, other alcoholic beverage signage up, TV, and interesting art that was cool too. The amount of kids that came in and families was great, but didn’t give a super family oriented feeling to the place. The service was absolutely stellar. Waitress was amazing and great smile and warm personality. Food was interesting. The New York style pizza had a very chew crust and heavy on the grease. The pasta did taste good with the chicken. The Alfredo sauce did not taste anything special and tasted too much of liquid and not enough thickness in it. The garlic bread with cheese was the best part, I enjoyed the just warm enough to have it melt and was delicious. Overall really enjoyed the service the most but everything else just seemed less than expected.

The owner's daughter [let's say OD] had an absolutely unacceptable attitude. She was practically barking at her (very obviously) young servers who seemed extremely distraught. 1 girl in particular she kept harassing her in the middle of the dining room during service with tables in earshot. People at other tables were visibly uncomfortable and service was shoddy not because of understaffing but simply because of lack of leadership. As someone who has personally worked in this field I would like to say I am typically a pretty patient person but I really cant stand people using their position to bully people just because they pay them. That is new age indentured labourship and it is atrocious.

To be quite honest I should have turned around and high tailed it the moment the owner's daughter greeted us at the door without a facemask in a well known pandemic. For someone who likes to use the pandemic as a crutch to get out from the responsibility of lack luster performance she sure forgot about that when she looked all of her staff in their masked faces and didnt wonder why she felt a cold breeze on her cheeks.

I feel awful for our server, I believe his name was Ahmed? Mohammed? He was a real sweetheart and he was super attentive. I really wanted to pay for our appetizers so I could at least tip HIM because he seemed so apologetic. I want to point out that we were trying to leave quietly and just tell our server that if they hadn't made our entrees if they could just cancel it. We didn't give him a reason until he started apologizing profusely and panicking. I'm assuming it was because he could anticipate the incoming clusterf*ck. He then tried to cancel the order and presumably was being verbally waterboarded for info on why the entrees were being cancelled.

She then comes to the table WITH HIM in tow and proceeds to gaslight us and tell us that we don't understand the situation and that she has excellent rapport with her staff and that she's simply training and the staff isn't listening to her well. Our server is visibly upset and starts apologizing. At this point I'm heartbroken because this is what we were trying to avoid. My friend then tells [the owner's daughter] that she cant Stand to see her yelling and dehumanizing her staff. The OD then starts yelling at my friend and threatens to call the police. I tell her that's unnecessary. I just want to pay for my appetizer. She says it is fine but practically sweeps us out the door when she realizes that requires us staying in her restaurant for a little longer. The hurries us away with a passive aggressive "Have a better day" or something to that tune.

TLDR The OD is a power hungry bully who should take a management class as being the owner's daughter isn't a certifiable prerequisite to management. Take your money to someone who treats thier staff (ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT ARE THAT IMPRESSIONABLE) with the respect they deserve and the patience that their training requires.

Edit: Please see restaurant response for an accurate depiction of the elementary behaviour we saw in service. They couldn't even be bothered to copy and paste a reply correctly. Thank you proving my...

Very disappointed tonight with Baris. We ordered and were told it would be ready for pickup in 20 minutes. No problem, I filled that 20 minute time frame running errands. When I finally showed up for my order, it was probably about 5 minutes before someone asked if I had been helped. The young lady said she would look for my order and never returned. I saw her inside waiting tables. After waiting another 10 minutes, a different lady asked if I had been helped. I repeated my order and after another 5 minutes she found the order based on my description of the order. She then asked me how I was going to pay. I told her we had already paid over the phone. After a couple more minutes she finally found the receipt. I had concerns about the freshness of the food at this point and the person I assume was the manager said it just came out of the kitchen. I told her that brings another concern and that we had already waited the 20 minutes and if the food just came out of kitchen, then they need to provide a more realistic wait time for pickup. I tipped them $5 cash out of the stupidity of my own kindness as they didn't deserve it tonight. The person in charge started spouting out apologies and blaming the pandemic. I am sick and tired of people using the pandemic as an excuse. We are 10 months into it and so deal. Either make some changes and staff accordingly or I will gladly order my food from other eateries. I love supporting local, but chains like McDonald's and Popeye's seem to have no problems dealing with the pandemic and they are a hell of a lot busier. Now as for the food, the food is Italian, but nothing special. In all fairness, the dinner rolls are amazing and probably the best thing on the menu! For that reason, I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Get it together Baris...I know you...

Food is great here, this is why we go. However, today we had very slow service and a poor experience. To make it short, we watched 7 tables around us-and probably more I couldn't notice- (mostly parties of 4-5 that were sat after us) be served and leave before we ever received our food. We were a party of 8 and an infant, or two small parties if 4-5. What was upsetting, more than waiting to eat while our two 6 year olds shifted from whiney to hungry to crazy, was the excuses we heard from our waitress. "The pizzas were coming out quicker," well, I pointed out several people were having pastas. Then it became "those other pastas were faster to prep", I asked which of our pastas was taking longest and how long it normally took and neither she nor the owner gave me a response. At one point our waitress said the service was "almost embarrassing" as she apologized and put blame on the kitchen staff. When I finally walked to the counter to ask for the manager, she rushed over saying SHE was the manager and then said the man next to her was the owner (which I already was aware of). Well, in the end, we got apologies from both with a whole bunch of excuses that were quite frankly balony because I was paying attention to when orders were being taken and going. Our waitress or someone dropped the ball and nobody owened up to anything offering a TRUE apology, and if the manager/waitress is saying "I wouldn't want you to wait as long as you've waited" then why not try to somehow remedy the problem. However, the owner did try to set me at ease by informing me other restaurants have much longer waiting times... Well, that's a relief. Thanks. So, it will take a long while before I wish to return.. just...
