This is one of my favorite places of all time! I absolutely love it here and come several times a week. (Note: This will be a lengthy review) I will break this into parts.
Location: I live in the area, so this is an amazing place being so close to my home. Anyone who lives in Pflugerville, if you haven't come here yet, you need to come. It's in downtown Pflugerville. It is in a spot that may be a little difficult to spot from driving into pflugerville from 35, but if you see a baby blue building its going to be right across the street.
Coffee/Food/ Drinks: I have been working my way down the menu (changes seasonally). I have tried the majority of the coffee and teas, and will be starting on the alcoholic drinks next week. This is one of the best places I have ever gone to for Lattes. I highly recommend the Vanilla Latte, and if you can try any drink with oak milk, It adds a thick richness that i have never had before. They have a myriad of teas that go from warm to soothing. I would highly recommend the Chamomile Melody, There's no caffeine, but I love how it is smooth and soothes/ relaxes me every morning. Their croissants are to die for. I recommend all 3, slightly warmed up, and eaten with a side of a vanilla latte. Fluffy, flaky, and filled with deliciousness.
Staff: The staff here are wonderful! I have become a regular and they have learned my name after the 3rd time, and even though I try new things all the time, they have learned my tastes and what i prefer. They do very well to keep the place spotless. They are the main reason I come here, They make each person feel so welcome and happy.
Atmosphere: This location has a very unique atmosphere that I haven't seen in any other place, and it changes throughout the day and what time you come. They host a variety of activities throughout the week, and food trucks come regularly to offer a tasty treat. The decor has a feeling of modern and homey. A bar top by the window offers a working or casual feel with an abundance of natural light that doesn't distract. They have a set of couches throughout the place to offer a comfortable and productive feel. A great place for meetings, individual work, or just a casual meetup. Tables are set up on either side of the place for individual, couple, or group gatherings. A place to meet all your needs. I am a photographer, and I cannot express enough how much i love the natural light that flows in. They have almost an entire wall of glass and if you come in the morning, it is absolutely beautiful.
If you are interested in events, check their schedule! They have a few events that come regularly from switch game day, to painting, but they also have new coming and limited events as well. Please come check out this place and show them some love. I have been coming here for months and will return as much as...
Read moreMy dear companion and I were in the neighborhood and decided to check this place out. It made us sick, it was so Pflugerhip. The baristatender was a nice enough bloke, but he bungled the transaction so I had to swipe and swipe and swipe like some hipster on Tinder. I ended up with a Turmeric Latte because I just can't resist odd, awful-sounding things. It wasn't as bad as it sounds, but probably not something I'd get again. My dear companion got a nice beer in a nice glass and we shared a blueberry scone that the baristatender offered to warm up for us before we even asked. We sat outside, away from most of the Pflugerhip, so in the end our experience was pretty good, I must say. I guess gentrification/colonization is not so bad when you are complicit in it and insist on looking the other way... You see, this place used to be a convenience store. Ryan and I used to stop here on our walks home from school to get Arizona teas. One day we found the front windows were all boarded up and the back of the store was all disheveled (read: dis-shelved). What had happened was a car done drove through the windows. I remember another time when Walid and I were in there, some guy asked Walid about the Arabic tattoo on his shoulder. Walid told him it said “Palestine,” and that was the end of the conversation. So many memories on that hallowed ground, but now the gentrificatory hipsters have moved in and occupied this territory—installed this “sweet” “chill” “hangout” “spot” in place of the belovèd convenience store that was a veritable institution in this town for time immemorial. That such a tragedy could be dressed up in such hip clothes is itself another tragedy. But tragedy is the way of the world, I'm afraid, from Pflugerville...
