I want to like this place, but the woman at the front makes it impossible. I live close by so I like to order take out some mornings when there's nothing in the house. I ordered a pork roll sandwich thinking it would be around $5 like it had been before they closed for the fire. This woman, without telling me over the phone, added homefries saying they come together, and then charged me over $10. They normally charge $3+ for a side of pork roll and $.65 for a long roll. So because she apparently deemed that not worth her time or because takeout doesn't help the servers(no idea the real reason...I'm guessing here)she decided to contrive a way to inflate my bill. The only thing she achieved was convincing me to never go back again. Absolutely no common sense. She could've had an easy sale probably once a week on an order that takes 2 mins to make, but instead she lost a customer for life. Congrats, I hope the extra $5 you squeezed out of me was...
Read moreI have been to Andonios 6 times in the past year. Once I was waiting to pay my check and at the counter and there was a man eating a Prime Rib dinner and it looked GREAT! I ordered that meal twice and it also was large and meaty without a bone and perfectly cooked. I brought my friend there to have the same meal, after I bragged about it, yesterday 09/12/18 at 4:45 pm. My friends Prime Rib was very small but mine was a disgrace. The bone was bigger than the actual meat that could be eaten and too much fat. I told the server that I never seen BONE THIS BIG on a piece Prime Rib . She said it comes that way some times. I blame the person that placed that piece of meat on my plate in the kitchen and the server that brought it out to me, a customer. I'm going to go back and order it again and this time I'm going to take a picture if the piece is garbage again and post it on Social Media and I will never go...
Read morei just went for breakfast again 1st time since they reopened. i was very surprised at how many people ( mostly retired) were there on a thursday at 9am! I immediatly was reminded of all the small diners that used to dominate NE philly in the past generations yet are now fading away. Andonios Diner had very nice waitresses & staff, friendly crowd of good local people who all seemed to be happy to chat amongst each other and food that was reasonablely priced! its a charming little throw back to the lost diners that once were in every shopping center in NE philly! I only wish my mother & grandmother ( who recently both passed) were still here because this was the type place i would have taken them! However, instead Im planning to take one of my mothers emderly friends there for a nice breakfast out! And also look forward to trying the lunch or dinner that i hear is equally as good with my younger son...
