Taste Queen should be called Waste Queen because their food looks and tastes like waste. What a "waste" of $56. A 2017 health inspection found "mouse feces", "potentially hazardous food", an "unwashed slicer" and "can opener", "raw or undercooked" food, "rodent activity", and other gross violations. To follow is the actual report (note 36 and 53; yuck!): Taste Queen, 9347 Krewstown Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19115 Inspection Date: 05/21/2017 14 -Slicer has an accumulation of food residue on the food contact surfaces and is not being washed, rinsed and sanitized at least every 4 hours. -The table mounted can opener had an accumulation of food residue on the food contact surfaces. 21 Potentially hazardous ready to eat food, prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours, located in the refrigeration units , was not date marked. -sauces and other prepared foods. 23 Foods are served raw or undercooked to the customer's request; however, a written consumer advisory (on the menu, table tent, or placard) is not provided to the consumer. -info not provided on inside dining menu 36 Visible physical evidence of rodent (mouse) activity observed in the *kitchen area. 45 -Garbage disposer installed on shallow wall mounted hand sink. 49 Utility sink. At least one utility sink or one curbed cleaning facility equipped with a floor drain shall be provided and conveniently located for the cleaning of mops or similar wet floor cleaning tools and for the disposal of mop water and similar liquid waste. -none provided 51 Women's restroom sanitary napkin refuse containers do are not lidded. 52 Outside grease recycle container and surrounding surfaces needs cleaning due to odor, fly activity and grease accumulation. 53 Mouse feces observed on floor perimters under wok grill and floor perimters neat warewashing machine. (SOURCE: City of Philadelphia, Office of Food Protection, Food Safety Inspection Reports) The food was incredibly bland and off tasting. The pork fried rice was completely flavorless except for a hint of dishwasher detergent. The soup should be called soap because it tasted like Safeguard. Do you like the flavor of fried paper towels? If you do, you will love the spring rolls and egg rolls. The fish tasted fishy, like it had died five years earlier and was just pulled out of the river. The spare ribs were very fatty, tough, and old tasting, as always for a low-end Chinese restaurant. The ginger salad had a Play-dough-like sauce and brown lettuce. The sweet and sour sauce was just sugar, ketchup, and vinegar. Do you like rotten mangos and spoiled poultry? If so, you will love Waste Queen's mango chicken. As the final nail in the coffin of awfulness, the old woman who took my order was mean, arrogant, sweaty, and smelly. She must be the actual Waste Queen.

Been here several times before but this was our first time back eating in since the pandemic began. We had the worst waitress, she just wasn’t nice at all. We all looked at each other after she stopped over the first time like wow. It was her tone etc. But it was just the beginning so we were hopeful but it didn’t get much better. I don’t like too many items so I ordered fried dumplings for my meal (they weren’t like normal- a couple were but one was super mushy then couldn’t eat) along with a ginger salad and an egg roll. All came out within one minute of each other. My sister and Dad were sharing a little sushi ( heard great things about their sushi but this was their first time trying it here) they didn’t love it. My Dad got seafood lo mein, and we had shrimp lo mein at the table along with shrimp fried rice. At the end of the meal when the waitress dropped the check (we also picked up take out for my Mom) she left this plate with these 4 circle things on it so my sister said excuse me what are these? The waitress responded CAKE! Her tone was the same at the end at the end as it was in the beginning. My Dad got nauseous when he got home. Just overall not a good experience. My Dad, sister and niece wanted a different Chinese restaurant and I picked this one so it’s on me. Sorry I don’t have pictures of everything.

I would give it 4 stars, but food here lacks flavor. They did not gave me napkins or at least one fork.( I know that there is places where you have to indicate if you need any utensils) But most places give you at least a fork and couple napkins lol. So the food taste and smelled fresh. But the chicken in ho fun was sliced quite thin and still lacked flavor. The chicken fried rice had no chicken and some mixed veggies. I also got pork roll and it got no pork just veggie ( unless there was a mix up lol). The duck sauce that they gave me was weirdly pink and too sweet and instead of mustard they could just give me spicy Mayo or at least more than one packet of soy sauce. I also don’t have the option to choose soup when ordering online. I might try them again like general Tso’s or sweet and sour to compare to my usual place. In conclusion, food needs more flavor and fork with your order.

My boyfriend and I came here to have dinner. We order from here often and love there food, but BEWARE of the indoor dining! Unfortunately as soon as my boyfriend and myself walked in the waitress had an attitude but I thought whatever probably a bad day, but that wasn’t the case. First off I used to waitress and I’m not about to knock the industry just wanted to tell what happened. We were seated and rushed through our meal which had me uncomfortable but then to top it off another couple is seated Right next to us. Now mind you it’s a Sunday and there was 2 other people besides us, until the other older couple comes in. It’s not a small restaurant so they could have been seated anywhere but they were seated right next to us. So my boyfriend and I were talking but the older woman next to us was ease dropping and wasn’t trying to hide it. By the end of our meal we both couldn’t wait to leave but I wanted to get icecream and so the waitress gave us are bill so I figured screw it I’ll just pay n leave. I feel like the waitress who’s Asian and not most likely not a fan of white Americans. The older couple that was seated on top of us were also white and American. There was a black couple in there but seated at a different end of the place. I don’t know but I’m pretty sure the waitress seated the whites together on purpose! So I just wanted to tell what happened at Taste Queen. I loved there food, but was shockingly disappointed how we...
