Hilltown Tavern Fairmount — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I wasn't going to write this, but then had another poor experience, so decided I would. I've been 4 times now. First 2 were fine. Food was decent. Service was adequate. However, I went back on Sunday 6/16/24 for dinner. Sat alone at bar. Bartender literally didn't see me despite walking by me 3 times. Ordered the bacon blue burger. It didn't take particularly long to come out, but was lukewarm at best, and seemed honestly stale....if that's possible for a burger. The patty almost seemed reheated. The bacon wasn't even heated. The fries completely soggy. So thought maybe it was just a bad night. Went back Tuesday 6/18/24 for happy hour. Two people at our table ordered off the Happy Hour menu, which the waitress crossed off 3 of the 6 items for availability. So they each got the Smash burger. It was suppose to have cheesed & caramelized onions. What they got was a hockey-puck of a patty with lettuce, tomato, & raw onion. No cheese. No carm onions. And def not a "smash" burger. They asked for cheese. The server offered to take their plates back and have the kitchen add it on. But that then left them with a lukewarm burger that got reheated under a broiler, and now cold fries. So disappointing. I will not be back despite having looked forward to this being a neighborhood staple for me since I live 3...

I celebrate my birthday every year by going out to lunch with my mom from out of town and chosen family/very small circle of closest ones. I moved from south to brewerytown about 2 years ago and the green eggs is s convenient walk away and I try to go with a place that has something for everyones taste on the menu so that no one leaves hungry! but it gets pricey and they only take cash. I wanted to mix things up for my 30th bday celebration with the people who drive hours to come visit me and shake things up for all of us. I found Hilltown Tavern was nearby and looked at their website and menu, and saw a variety of food that had something everyone attending would love. It was also in convenient distance to meet up at my house for them to park and walk as a group to. The bar was huge, we aren't drinkers though. They have a good amount of table seating and outdoor seating as well. The food was delicous and everyone enjoyed their meals. The price was also more reasonable. I definitely will be coming...

I had a terrible experience here. The kitchen manager has no manners, very rude and yells at his staff when customers are watching. He said a sexual remark about me while my husband was watching the game just the other night. He didn’t think I heard him but I did and it made me super uncomfortable, I was happy to get out of there when we did. There was a woman who came out of the kitchen and she just looked so overwhelmed, upset and downright ready to go. While she was in the kitchen making food I assume, the manager, another guy came out the kitchen & they were all watching the tv. I’m guessing she was new maybe because she was asking a question about the food and the manager just blew her off. I hope she and the other females involved at that restaurant have a great experience minus the man behind it all. Ladies please say something before...
