UPDATE: I just got a 20oz black coffee at Musette and it cost $3.24. This is definitely overpriced. I love their coffee (it is probably one of the better blends in the area using Rival Bros. beans) but there is no need for it to be this expensive when most people are getting fancier drinks
Musette has officially put Brown Street and Lucky Goat on notice with their great atmosphere and coffeeshop vibes. I stopped by this place after Sunday morning yoga and I'm so glad that I did. The atmosphere in here is great and it's so new that the crowds haven't showed up yet.
I got a cappuccino and we split some Avocado Toast and a Fig Jam, Apple, and Brie Baguette. They do NOT have a full kitchen here but they have an interesting selection of cold sandwiches (no meat on the menu). The sign says pastries, but all we saw were a few bagels and biscotti (to be fair we were there late in the day).
The best thing about this place was the cool ambience they have created. The Beatles' White Album was playing and there were a few people working on laptops inside. Even the bathroom was well appointed and fit the rest of the place.
I am very happy to welcome this place to my neighborhood. I expect great things from them in the...
Read moreOn our first day in Philly, we decided to grab coffee at a charming little spot just a short walk from the art museum. The location was easy to get to, nestled in a quiet and charming neighborhood where the homes had their own unique flair, with potted plants adorning the sidewalks. It set a lovely scene for our morning coffee run.
The coffee shop itself was equally cute, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options. We appreciated the quick service, which allowed us to start our day as tourists without delay. We both opted for vanilla lattes, one hot and one iced. They were decent, though if you prefer a stronger vanilla flavor, I’d recommend asking for an extra pump or two of syrup. That said, the coffee had a nice, rich flavor, perfect for those who enjoy the taste of coffee itself.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a great spot to grab a nice cup of coffee if you’re in the area. The charming surroundings and quick service make it a worthwhile stop for anyone exploring this part...
Read moreI usually love this place and have been coming here from time to time for the past two years because the coffee and food are great, and the staff is friendly. However, today, a female employee working in the afternoon (between 1–3 PM) had an unpleasant attitude.
I initially asked for more hot water because my coffee was getting cold and tasted stronger as it cooled. She asked me to bring the cup, which was fine. Later, as we were leaving, I gathered used cups and plates and brought them to the cashier’s table out of courtesy—something I’ve always done. I also noticed that other customers had left their tables messy.
However, the same employee curtly told me, 'There’s a bin down the hallway.' I followed her instructions, but her attitude made me feel unwelcome, and it almost seemed like she was discriminating against me as a non-white person. I wouldn’t expect a 'thank you,' but at the very least, I shouldn’t be met with hostility. Because of this experience, I no longer want to return...
